1. Jane’s book (which is now being typeset) is The Afterdeath Journal of an American Philosopher: The World View of William James. [...]

Even so, Jane had the magical approach in mind two days later, when she typed a rough last note for her journal on February 10: “Still annoying problems with fingers… hoping to clear this up, using in part robs new suggestion page [credo] for me. [...]

A note added a month later: Jane’s journal entry is indeed a last one, for on the 26th of February, 18 days after finishing her work for Dreams, she was admitted to a local hospital for treatment of hearing difficulties, rheumatoid arthritis, and several other afflictions. [...]

[...] These include the thousands of pages of the Seth material, regular and deleted [or private]; Jane’s and my own journals and other miscellaneous manuscripts, written records, and notes; ESP class tapes; some of Jane’s poetry and art, and some photographs of each of us. [...]

[...] To those people the new journalism is transparent. [...]

1. Jane typed this entry for her journal while sitting at a card table in our glassed-in front porch:

[...] As she wrote in her journal today: “Great day … began typing Chapter Three of God of Jane and the book really started taking off; I’m just tickled; I did great, and added lots of on-the-spot stuff as I typed. [...]

(I think that some of the material in tonight’s session is a reflection, or answer, to an article that Jane read this afternoon, in the British Journal for Psychical Research, September 1977. [...]

(The next morning, Jane awakened with the title of a book in mind. The Afterdeath Journal of an American Philosopher. [...]

(She’d spent considerable time today looking over her 1973 notebook/journal, and combining new notes with fresh insights arising from that old material. [...]

3. Jane’s mention of possession came about because today I’d read her an article in a scholarly journal we subscribe to. [...]

(In this noon’s mail Jane received from her editor, Tam Mossman, an early printer’s proof of the book jacket for The Afterdeath Journal of an American Philosopher: The World View of William James. [...]

[...] This automatically presents the material in order, preserving the sense of continuity, and serves as a progressive, subjective journal of dream experiences as Rob and I, and later my students, followed Seth’s suggestions. [...]

[...] However, she hadn’t had a session, regular or private, in over 10 weeks [since August 13], so on October 27 she recorded in her journal the continuance of her daily creative struggles: “And once again I’m way behind in sessions and writing. [...]

I’ve slightly paraphrased portions of Jane’s entry in her journal for November 2, 1981. [...]

[...] She is doing invaluable work as a research and editorial assistant; studying Jane’s notebooks, journals, and poetry, and putting together material from those sources to be included in this book. [...]

[...] While she rested I explained to Jane some of the material I’ve been reading in the MUFON journal, on ufology. [...]

[...] The Afterdeath Journal of an American Philosopher: The World View of William James came the same way, like mental dictation; only where the Cézanne world view had specialized in art, the James world view was more comprehensive. [...]

(My questions had been rearoused because of an article I’d read a few days ago in a scientific journal; in their piece the authors explained that a certain significant percentage of women can develop cervical cancer from contact with a virus carried by the sperm of males who haven’t had vasectomies — or who haven’t been sterilized, in other words. [...]

2. Jane wrote these notes in her journal last Sunday, the day before she delivered this session on August 25 — but I present them here to show how, from her own perspective, she very nicely covers events I too wrote about in connection with the session.
