[...] (More than this, he let me use his real name, rather than hiding behind a pseudonym.) In his letter he said: In the session “I chose topics of conversation which were clearly of tolerable interest to Seth and considerable interest to me, and which by that time I had every reason to believe were largely foreign territory to Jane. Also … I chose to pursue these topics at a level of sophistication which I felt, at least, made it exceedingly improbable that Jane could fool me on; substituting her own knowledge and mental footwork for those of Seth, even if she were doing it unconsciously. [...]

[...] … In any sense in which a psychologist of the Western scientific tradition would understand the phrase, I do not believe that Jane Roberts and Seth are the same person, or the same personality, or different facets of the same personality. [...]

(At supper this evening Jane and I had a very productive discussion about personal problems. [...]

[...] Jane’s trance had been deep. [...]

[...] Instead Jane and I worked with the pendulum and achieved good results.)

[...] Jane came right out of an excellent trance. [...]

(Before I typed this material from my notes, Jane and I discussed whether we should supplement Seth’s rather generalized local data with specific names, dates, and events involving Elmira and Chemung County; this information would cover periods of at least several months before and after the flood of June 23, 1972. [...]

(That material actually flows from a session held seven years earlier: the 16th for January 15, 1964, which still contains Seth-Jane’s longest delivery on such craft. [...]

(4:25 p.m. Jane’s speed of delivery had steadily increased as she progressed with the session. [...]

[...] Jane’s pace at the beginning of the session was quite active and fast, her eyes open often. [...]

(Jane asked class to go into Alpha to help a visitor, Juanita, who has ear and eye problems, to help relieve her symptoms. [...]

[...] After break Seth returned with some excellent material for Jane and me. [...]

[...] Jane writes there often — with the garage doors open — so that she can enjoy the view of the hills at the back of the house.)

(During break—I think this break—I told Jane and Rob of when I was very young—ten or eleven. [...]

(Note: In one of the breaks, I noticed two or three candles that were on Jane’s coffee table. [...]

(I showed Jane and Rob a little artwork, and my two Pennsylvania scrapbooks, and left a little before midnight with a great deal to think about!)

(What Seth said was repeated to Jane—ending with the fact that he would be here for a “social time.”)

[...] Ruburt does not care—Jane does not like it. [...]

(Jane said that she got a strong feeling of peace as Seth spoke his last words for the evening. [...]

[...] Jane’s pace had been slower since break. [...]

[...] After giving half a page of notes for Jane, Seth ended the session at 10:58 P.M.)

(Although this session is called deleted, actually there’s much in it of general interest; it also deals with some advancements in Jane’s abilities.)

[...] I might note here that earlier this evening Jane was able to raise her right arm higher than she’s been able to do for several years. [...]
