JANE’S NAP DREAM

(Beginning at 8:30 this evening, Jane received two long telephone calls from other states — hence the later start of the session.)

[...] Jane’s pace had been steady. [...]

[...] The racket was so loud and prolonged that I was surprised when Jane went back into trance. [...]

(We held the session in Jane’s study so that she could sit before the double microphones of her new recording system. [...]

(End at 11:43 p.m. Jane had been very well dissociated. [...]

[...] Rather often, too, Jane will break up her nighttime sleep period by spontaneously waking and getting up for an hour or so.)

(I asked Jane to hold this session so that we could get information on two questions: 1. The sales of her books, both hardcover and paperback. [...]

[...] Ruburt (Jane) mentioned that. [...]

[...] So does Jane, I think.) Ruburt was worried about money in the bank then—not six months or a year hence with royalties. [...]

[...] Jane’s voice was very quiet.)

[...] Jane’s trance had been deep, her pace fast. [...]

[...] Again Jane’s trance had been deep. [...]

(During the past week Jane has made a spectacular improvement in the use of her right arm, with lesser but steady improvement in the left. [...]

[...] Jane had been “really out.” [...]

[...] Jane’s relaxation continued strongly; she went to bed. [...]

[...] Tam has recently told Jane that the Seth books outsell all P/H’s books except the Ozzie Nelson. [...]

[...] Some long time ago your own belief that good work could not be financially relied upon put up enough of a barrier so that Ruburt became frightened about his own work (a fact I have long suspected, and recently discussed with Jane), and set up a physical situation that would force him to stay home, literally, work, and prevent him from trying any longer those other avenues that you were still adopting. [...]

[...] (About Jane and me being essentially alone in that world now after my mother’s death, etc.) In the inner order of events he is walking nearly normally, but the challenge to beliefs must take place on that outer level, and this is now occurring. [...]

(Jane’s impressions to Bette of a past life the class had received the previous week in Alpha: “You had seven children. [...]

(As Jane came out of trance, Gert remarked that Seth had thrown her glasses.)

(Joel told Jane that Seth had tapped him on the toes with her glasses.)

(Jane finished typing her book, Psychic Politics, and has been receiving more material on the manuscript she now calls The World View of Paul Cézanne. [...]

(After giving some material for Jane, Seth ended the session at 12:09 A.M.)

(Until she told me following the session, I didn’t realize that Jane was slightly discomfited by Seth’s remark about holes. [...]

(As Seth, Jane pushed her hair back over each ear. [...]

[...] Once again, Seth started enlarging upon the material Jane had written during the early morning hours of May 3, after receiving it in the sleep state. [...]

(11:59 p.m. Jane’s trances had been uniformly deep throughout the session, her deliveries strong, steady and businesslike.

Some (of Jane’s) beliefs are becoming more visible, so we shall make them even clearer. [...]

[...] (As Seth, Jane pointed to the Christmas amaryllis that sat on the coffee table between us.) It can be encouraged, watched and tended, but it grows as a natural part of the personality. [...]

[...] I know that one of my thoughts was that Jane’s simply getting up earlier might help break the cycle of repetitive thinking and action.

[...] Although I’ve been delayed getting this typing done, I’ve read the session to Jane each day; we have discussed it, etc.)

([Jane added:] Yes. [...]

JANE’S NOTES

[...] For example, the Jane Roberts of now is different from the Jane Roberts of ten years ago, though “I” have not been conscious of any particular change of identity.

[...] In getting clairvoyant information, for instance, some part of me knows what the Jane-part ordinarily does not. This portion of me communicates the knowledge to the Jane ego. [...]

[...] Having a whole self may be great, but if my Jane Roberts self is engulfed by it after death, then to me that’s not much of a survival. [...]

[...] Note: The next afternoon Jane gave a telephone interview to a staff member of Frontiers of Science magazine....)

[...] I feel quite uncharacteristic for a change with Ruburt in his skirt and this (meaning Jane’s long bangs). [...]

(Lately Jane has been going over her old notes. [...]

(Seth’s material here on the use of the will came about, I think, as a result of some older material I gave Jane to read this afternoon. [...]

[...] As I told Jane after the session, Seth’s Christ material tonight reminded me of the idea of the Christ book, which Seth mentioned in Personal Reality.)

[...] (Jane was so addressed last night in ESP class by one of her students, a male.) He did idealize you in the early days of your relationship, and then made the transition that he mentioned. [...]

(Seth then explained he was referring to the days immediately following the deleted session of January 18, 1971, when Jane expressed a lot of her fears, etc.)

(Just as she had this afternoon, Jane “picked up” a little material from Seth at 9:00 this evening. [...]

[...] Speaking as Seth, Jane now delivered two pages of material for herself and me. [...]

(Twice today Jane had tuned in to very similar concepts while going about her daily business. [...]
