QUOTATION FROM JANE ROBERTS
(Both of us were looking forward to some private material we’d asked for earlier today; Jane already “knew” that Seth would give it tonight, but first she wanted some dictation on Chapter Twenty. [...]
[...] The rest of the session was given over to the material that Jane and I had requested, and ended then at 11:35 p.m.)
(10:32 P.M. Jane’s delivery had often been fast and impassioned, even with the indicated pauses. [...]
1. Jane originated the key portion of the new title early last Sunday morning, when she got up at 4 A.M. to have breakfast and make some notes for her book. [...]
“So, in that moment, I named that part of me the God of Jane, and that designation makes sense to me, at least. [...]
(Jane and I had a long discussion before the session, etc.)
[...] Seth returned almost at once, after I said that I wasn’t interested in solving our problems by simply changing jobs for more money – the problem was that I wanted time to paint, etc., and time for Jane to write.)
[...] This was the end of the session, although Jane started out to merely take a break.)
[...] Jane’s trance had been good—she was far out, she said. [...] I had suspected some points, but most was very revealing, especially my subconscious reasons re land ownership, Jane’s very excellent way of personifying wherever she lived, etc., and her unknown ability for real estate dealing, etc.
[...] The data came through because of a discussion Jane and I had before the session, in which I expressed a good deal of resentment and negative attitudes, about a lot of things....)

4. A note added later: Jane dealt with her “own” ideas of the inner multidimensional self in Part 2 of her Adventures in Consciousness: An Introduction to Aspect Psychology. [...] I made a number of diagrams to illustrate Jane’s material in Part 2 of Adventures, and several of these show a schematic source self with its attendant Aspects.
[...] This 704th session continues briefly in Volume 2, where Seth gives the heading for Section 4 [which opens that second volume]; then he adds a few words of personal material for Jane and me before saying good night at 11:21 P.M. The notes for tonight’s session are presented below, however, since all of them refer to material already given.
In very simplified terms, then, Jane regards Seth as a personagram, “a multidimensional personification of another Aspect of the entity or source self, as expressed through the medium.” [...]
—and I enjoy the cozy specific nature of your den (Jane’s writing room) in its hillside house, nestled in its physical nest, the specific streets and small city. [...]
(10:23 P.M. “I don’t know whether it’s going to last or not,” Jane said, “but I’m enjoying this book more than any. [...]
2. I’ve always liked the way Jane uses the word “eccentric” in relation to the abilities of any portion of consciousness to create new versions of itself; she’s added her own original interpretation of the word to the dictionary version of “eccentric” as meaning out of the ordinary, or odd, or unconventional.
(Jane has already had one session — a short one — today. [...]
(While we were eating supper this evening Jane received a long distance call from one of our visitors of last August. [...]
(Jane was quite ready for her regular session at 9:00, although because of the call we weren’t sure what it would cover. [...]
[...] Seth-Jane, deep in thought, paused.) Much has been written about the nature and importance of suggestion. [...]
