“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(Next, the subject matter of the 18th session led me to recall that Seth had also discussed trees several years later. But this time, in spite of my system of indexing each session in at least a fairly adequate fashion, several days passed before I found the passage I wanted. Discovering it involved a patient combing of many sessions and notes. [If the indexes listed everything in detail, they’d end up being almost as long as the sessions themselves.] The search was worth it, though; now I had the key phrase I’d associated with Seth’s remark in Session 708. It’s underlined below for easy reference.

(Meaning, of course, that the sessions have grown so extensive that they’ve become a closed system in themselves; without an index it’s now very difficult to track down specific material. I gave up my few attempts at indexing years ago, and now don’t even make notes on the index pages any more.

We spent all of our waking hours checking everything, and on Monday Jane called certain people at Prentice-Hall to give her approval of the index while I mailed Emir back to Eleanor.

[...] Since our index is not completed for all the sessions, I cannot find as many exact references here as I would like, other than to ask Seth for help in naming particular sessions, and do not know whether this is possible. [...]

(Today in the mail Jane received a group of file cards, prepared as an index by Blanche Price for the copies of poetry Jane had sent her over the years for safekeeping. [...]

(On March 5 the frontmatter proofs for Volume 2 — consisting of items like the table of contents, a poem of Jane’s, the titles of her previous books, and so forth — arrived for checking; we expect to see the proofs for Volume 2’s index in a couple of weeks. [...]

And in closing: The index for Volume 2 of “Unknown” Reality will contain (when that book is published) a comprehensive list of references to Seth’s discussions of his units of consciousness, or CU’s, as presented in both volumes of that work.

(The index proofs for God of Jane arrived day before yesterday, and Jane found them okay when she checked them today. [...]

[...] (As an example, I doubt if this one will be referred to in the index for Dreams.) But I also think that intuitively we know the truth Seth so briefly expressed here, and that it never has been or ever will be really lost.
