[...] Both of these chapters will bear on reincarnation as it applies to death, and some emphasis will also be given to death at the end of the last incarnation.

The next chapter will deal with the emotional realities of love and kinship between personalities — with what happens to these during succeeding incarnations, for some fall by the wayside and some are retained.

[...] When Jane read her material of this afternoon to me, I thought she likened the Sinful Self’s renewal to reincarnation, meaning that she thought this renewal might account for many of our overt ideas of reincarnation—that at least some of our ideas about reincarnation were based upon our intuitive knowledge of the return of portions of one’s self to that earlier state of innocence—a rebirth, in other words, that we might translate into the idea of physical incarnation. (9:56.) Each day therefore is an incarnation, so to speak, but not only symbolically — for through soul’s intersection with the flesh, each self mirrors daily its “reincarnational” or simultaneous selves.

Such personalities, that is such secondary personalities, do not represent past incarnations therefore, although some of the qualities may originate in a past life.

In a large sense different basic feeling-tones can dominate various incarnations. [...]
