For one thing, again, almost all situations, including the most drastic, can be changed for the better to some extent, and the very attempt to do so can increase a person’s sense of control over his or her own circumstances. [...]

[...] Ruburt did well with his attitude — especially since the hospital help are so prone themselves to negative suggestion. [...]

The process of clearing the body out began when Ruburt started his Day 1, but with the great frequency of negative hospital suggestions, and general false beliefs connected with fever, the beneficial aspects indeed had to be taken on faith as largely (underlined) they were (louder).

Seth, then, has finished his work on Dreams. I wrote the original version of the notes for each book session as he delivered it through Jane, and also began collecting other notes and reference material that might be used. [...]

[...] And I’m sure that as the reader works his or her way through the essays, it will become quite apparent that I wrote them just as much for Jane and me as I did for others—all in our ceaseless attempts to better understand, to grasp a bit more firmly, those mental and physical adventures that we’re trying to delve into “this time around.”

[...] His attitudes toward such activities may indeed be something else again, but he is working those out, and needs some time to do so. [...]

[...] I feel quite uncharacteristic for a change with Ruburt in his skirt and this (meaning Jane’s long bangs). [...]

[...] Some of his related material there had been fairly personal, but we’d left it in place because of its general application. When Seth added the hill house to his list tonight, however, his connecting information about Jane and me was so intimate that we decided to delete parts of it. [...]

Now: Historically speaking, early man in his way understood those connections far better than you do, and used language as he developed it to express first of all this miracle of birth. (I was tempted to try to obtain more information from Seth about immediately future events, following up his own hints, but did not do so because he called for a short session. [...]

He was able to utilize unusually strong amounts of energy in our work of late, and will find his energy even more abundant and dependable in his writing, our work, and normal living. [...]

He cannot disentangle himself from his beliefs about the species, which is why that area is so sensitive to him. [...]
