[...] In his (unpublished) apprentice novels, Ruburt (Jane) did two or three versions of an episode with a priest he had known in his youth. Each version at the time he wrote it represented his honest memory of the event. [...]

[...] Each one brings to it his or her own background, temperament, and literally a thousand different colorations — so that the event, while shared by others, is still primarily original to each person.

[...] The driver lost his balance, the vehicle veered, but the driver regained his balance just in time and continued on. [...]

[...] The dreamer is baffled at his own ability to forsee a future event, and this makes him more than ordinarily curious about the nature of dream life in particular.

[...] In the course of conversation, my father-in-law told us that on July 3, from his window, he had watched a near-accident involving a motorcycle. [...]

[...] A motorcyclist momentarily loses control of his cycle, and the vehicle veers but goes on. [...]

It should be obvious by now that in a large measure all of the selves and approaches I’ve delineated in these essays simply represent Seth playing around semantically, as he tries to get various portions of his ideas through our heads at certain times. All is one, basically, as he knows—and can feel—far better from his vantage point than we can from ours. [...]

I also think that if asked Seth would point out that since the concept of quantum mechanics is based upon the idea that everything we “know”—matter, energy, our sensual information—is made up of quanta, or the interactions of insubstantial fields that in turn, and quite paradoxically, produce very active subatomic packets or particles, then quantum mechanics is at least analogous with his statements that basically the universe is composed of consciousness itself. But I think that the continuum of consciousness, or All That Is, contains not only the phenomena of quantum mechanics, but also Seth’s nonphysical EE (electromagnetic energy) units, and his CU’s (or units of consciousness). [...]

Some day, for our own amusement—but hardly with the idea of convincing others, let alone influential scientists—I’ll ask Seth to comment upon whatever connections may exist between his ideas and those embedded in quantum mechanics. [...]

[...] Not even when I play around with his ideas relative to quantum theory can such proof be found—yet I let Jane’s “amazingly strong” will be the measuring and observing device that automatically causes “waves” of knowing or consciousness—in Framework 2, for example—to coalesce into the “particles” that make up the physical forms she perceives as her reality in Framework 1, either psychically from a distance or right here.

[...] He is continuing his own development. [...]

[...] In this same framework, as the exterior drama begins to fade and as it has left meaning, in your terms, only now as time seems to pass, then once again the interior drama arises, but this time with a new story, with a different god and with new prophets; and as the old weakens so the new interior drama begins once more to arouse man from within his dreams, and again they choose and someone appears, or two or three, and a new drama is projected into external reality. [...]

(Ron:] “So there would be no contradiction in that if you conceive of God consisting of all personalities, then as individual personalities progress up through different realities then He would eventually become in His identity God in that God is All That Is.”)

Except that God is always more than All That Is, is the sum that you cannot find and for my definition of God I, therefore, leave you with that one for God is the sum that you cannot find, that resides within you, that is more than anything you can discover, that is his creations and yet more than that which is created within; whom infinities rest. [...]

[...] Not that I thought Seth was going out of his way to deal with such concepts tonight, but by the time he was through with his material on the sleepwalkers, I thought he’d considered at least one possible facet of my inquiry.

[...] Less clear were some data about herself but she thought Seth would cover all of that along with his material on “Unknown” Reality. [...]

[...] He has been studying the nature of his consciousness — using it as if it were apart from the rest of nature, and therefore seeing nature and the world in a particular light.⁶ That light has finally made him feel isolated, alone, and to some extent relatively powerless (intently).

(Rapidly:) He is learning how to use the light of his own consciousness, and discovering how far one particular method of using it can be counted upon. [...]

(As far as we knew, Seth would resume dictation on Chapter Three of his book this evening. [...]

I will, then, end our session with my heartiest regards to you both; and may I remind Ruburt again of the suggestion I made concerning his bed.

(Jane still reads Seth’s material on his book. [...]

[...] Each individual, generally speaking, knows his challenges and overall programs, and the time of his death. [...]

[...] In some cases such a prediction can make death a fact — while its opposite can regenerate the patient’s belief in his or her own ability to live.

[...] She said that giving the material tonight was something like taking a test or examination, because Seth wanted her to give voice to his meaning as accurately as possible.

[...] You can tell an artist’s abilities from his paintings, as you observe them, can you not?

The world as you know it is mankind’s creation, and his abilities and limitations are all in evidence there. [...]

[...] Just before the session, Jane said that she thought Seth was “rather cavalier” in his attitude, and that my own wasn’t very good. [...]

(Pause at 9:39.) Briefly: Again, help reassure Ruburt that his body does (underlined) know what it is doing. [...]

To the extent that he questions his own natural protection. [...]

[...] Hal demonstrated his massage techniques on me as I lay on the couch, so that I’d know better how to help Jane. [...]

[...] He began to look at his own experience—to some extent, now—through that medical cast. [...]

[...] The organization of the material comes almost in packages, you might say, hopefully to be delivered at the best possible time, so have Ruburt keep his eye out for sessions in the day sometimes, at least for starters (as I have suggested also). [...]

[...] Each individual in his dreams has access to the information possessed by the Speakers. [...]

[...] Yes, and fuss with his table a bit. [...]

[...] Under different circumstances cooking could be a hobby of his, so bank on that. [...]

[...] But Seth continued with his material on the behavior of our species, even while bringing Psyche to a close.)

[...] If the ideas in this book were thoroughly understood, then each individual would be able to assess his or her own reality realistically. [...]

(Volume I of “Unknown” Reality came out in the fall of 1977 — and by then Seth was well into his latest, The Individual and the Nature of Mass Events, even though this book, Psyche, hadn’t yet been typed for publication. [...]

[...] Seth came through with some very interesting material on the relationship involving the three of us, as well as the communication between his reality and ours. [...] We hardly expected Seth to discuss Framework 3, though, since we’re still assimilating his material on Frameworks 1 and 2.

[...] He has been participating in his library, for example, whether or not he is always aware of it.

[...] There is no doubt, either, of his additional flexibility and freedom of motion, which will continue to manifest each day. [...]

[...] His body is not making all of these improvements for nothing (a good point, I thought in answer to Seth’s rather dry humor). [...]

[...] Comments such as these: “You look tired,” or: “What’s the matter, don’t you feel well?” and other such remarks often simply reinforce the individual’s earlier sense of dejection, until finally this same kind of give-and-take leads to a situation in which the individual and his fellows begin to intermix in a negative rather than a positive manner.

Ruburt’s dream was excellent, showing that he is now making the best of his past, rediscovering playful beliefs — the trinkets — and sources of pleasure and activity. [...]

[...] Dr. Menahem very favorably compares the Seth material with a number of psychological disciplines, and I told Jane I hoped his feature would show her that the general validity of her work would continue to grow. [...]

[...] “I think he was also answering some of the points that psychologist made in his letter,” she said. [...]

Ruburt is determined to better his condition, and already has allowed many (underlined) improved motions. [...]

[...] It he could not “do it” in the medical manner, and if he could not “do it” on his own, then where was he? [...]

(At the supper table this evening we had been speculating about the times Seth had given in connection with his life as a pope, both in the ESP class session for May 25, 1971, and the 588th session in this chapter. [...]

The original man may have been assassinated, another taking his place, carrying on as if there had been no change as far as the populace was concerned. [...]

[...] Pat did take copies of the two sessions back to Roger Sullivan who sent us his opinions of them in later December. [...]
