(Jane has often told me that usually on such nighttime occasions she doesn’t feel Seth’s presence or hear his voice. [...]

[...] Jane did hear from the secretary of her publisher on Saturday; she does not regard the situation settled however since the publisher is out of town and could not reply personally.

It is much easier for me to deal with other people’s illnesses and health nuisances, than it is to deal with Ruburt’s. He asks me a question and then slams the ego gates down, refusing to hear the answer. [...]

[...] While at work in my own writing room I occasionally hear her talking to herself as she sits at her card table in the living room, just down the hall: I’ve learned that on such occasions, she’s asleep and often dreaming aloud, solving the psychological equations continually arising among the levels of her psyche as she pursues her chosen learning processes. [...] Your experiments, Joseph, are coming along extraordinarily well, and when you hear the voice that you heard in your experience, then you will recognize it.

(Before what we expected to be our regular session for Monday evening, Jane told me that she’d awakened in the middle of the previous night with insights about two practice elements¹ Seth would discuss — but we didn’t hear from Seth even though she felt him “around” as we prepared for the session.

It might be added later here that on succeeding days Jane had several more auditory-type experiences, all involving topics other than houses or “Unknown” Reality. In none of those episodes was she aware of Seth’s voice, per se, but even so we see relationships between them and the time she did hear his voice; see my description of that event at the beginning of the 710th session.
