[...] I’d seen him in the corridors often, and he’d seen me—but netiher of us had connected the other with Jane.

About your dream: (Pause.) You were telepathically picking up some of the thoughts of Joe Bumbalo as he suspiciously wondered about John, because John’s talents and abilities struck him as being too feminine. [...]

[...] The session Seth had referred to was that for last Saturday, August 11, when he’d first mentioned that Jane would be able again to sit on her back porch. He’s referred to the same thing since then, also.

[...] “Over there — to my left — he’s talking about the limitations of our kind of personality. [...] “But I don’t care what he talks about,” she said, “as long as he starts out with something and keeps me going.”

To some degree he becomes action. Like every other consciousness he is always action, but this evening he experienced to some degree action directly, without the usual attempt of the self to separate from action.

(This appreciation of concepts is, according to Seth, the using of some of the inner senses, and he has mentioned this many times. He has called the 4th inner sense the conceptual sense, and began to develop upon this about a year ago, March 23, 1964, in the 37th session.

[...] I have been mentioning the incidents to Jane just before session time, in case Seth cared to comment on them, but to date he hasn’t dealt with them. I do not know whether either of the incidents is the one he referred to, or whether the correct one still lies in the future.

(To Mary Ellen.) You are taking a psychology course like none he is taking and you are learning more about the nature of human personality. [...]

(Once again Seth surprised us by indicating that the previous two sessions should be considered a part of Psyche — and once again we saw that he’d let our questions lead him precisely where he intended to go in any case! [...]

The child, laughing with joy and awe at the sight of the first violet, understands far more in the deepest terms than a botanist who has long since forgotten the experience of perceiving one violet, though he has at his mental fingertips the names and classifications of all the world’s flowers. Because of Ruburt’s mixture of symbolic and literal natures, the gesture gave him an excellent, definite sense of self-approval in a way that he has not experienced in some time. [...]

Now our friend, Ruburt, is a loner and he does go out in areas that frighten him. He goes out in these areas for himself, but also for others because this is a portion of what he is meant to do. [...]

Now our friend, Ruburt, is not about to go for all this sexual hanky-panky that is described in this precious book, but the man who wrote the book picked up his information from the inner self and then he made a story about it. [...]

[...] To some extent this applies to Ruburt also, for he realizes its strength. [...]

Now Ruburt did not know what he was going to speak about this evening and half of his talk in class is automatic, as you know, but it was no coincidence that he became involved in his talk of power and energy for you had a deep distrust of your own energy to sway people as a salesman (to Davey) as you had a distrust of your ability to sway people as a minister (to Joel) and as you also have the same feeling (to Davey), for what happens is this. [...] You trust an adversary because you cannot move him; and you think, there is a man, he will not listen to me, therefore, he must really be great, and you also feared him, and that is why you trust your enemies in a strange fashion for they convince you that a portion of the race is worth saving.
