We shall have a session dealing almost entirely with the nature of energy gestalts, and you will see that while these pyramid energy gestalts do, on the one hand, achieve a unitary character and sublime intelligence, on the other hand they form only an approximation of humanity’s concept of a God. All of the issues form together to make a trellis of behavior. [...] That is, the individual will grow outward toward the world, encountering and forming a practical experience, traveling outward from his center in almost vinelike fashion, forming from the fabric of physical reality a conglomeration of pleasant or aesthetic, and unpleasant or prickly events.

I have thus far stayed clear of many important and vital subjects, involving mass realities, because first of all the importance of the individual was to be stressed, and his power to form his private events. Only when the private nature of reality was emphasized sufficiently would I be ready to show how the magnification of individual reality combines and enlarges to form vast mass reactions — such as, say, the initiation of an obviously new historical and cultural period; the rise or overthrow of governments; the birth of a new religion that sweeps all others before it; mass conversions; mass murders in the form of wars; the sudden sweep of deadly epidemics; the scourge of earthquakes, floods, or other disasters; the inexplicable appearance of periods of great art or architecture or technology.

[...] We still have a host of questions about Seth’s reality, his concepts, and Jane’s role [and my own] in all of this — that is, questions about consciousness itself, basically: consciousness getting to know itself in endless variations, as I’ve written before, and whether or not it’s couched in physical form.

The vine of experience in this analogy is formed in quite a natural fashion from “psychic” elements that are as necessary to psychological experience as sun, air, and water are to plants. [...]

It is a self materialized in physical form. [...]

The inner self could be called, then, the nucleus, the original point of action from which all the other emanations that form the whole self began. [...]

After the 9th power form shatters, but at the 12th power form is re-established under a new constant. [...]

Any or all of these may take symbolic form, and may appear beneficial or threatening according to the attitude of the personality involved. [...]

Often they are incipient forms given activity by the personality who encounters them. [...]

You form your reality. You form, therefore, the generation in which you seem presently to have your existence. [...]

So your physical life is the result of a spectacular spontaneous order—the order of the body spontaneously formed by the units of consciousness. [...]

Your many civilizations, historically speaking, each with its own fields of activity, its own sciences, religions, politics and art—these all represent various ways that man has used imagination and reason to form a framework through which (underlined) a more or less cohesive reality is experienced.

[...] Why on earth, he thought, should someone form such a reality?

[...] When too many actions are restricted by the ego, they may begin to form impulse patterns or groupings of various rejected impulses. [...]

[...] However when the ego is too restrictive its conception of purposeful action becomes so narrow that many legitimate and necessary impulses are dammed up, forming these rejected action patterns.

It feels the concentration of energy that has collected to form the rejected action patterns, and indeed it may feel that this unified rejection pattern is then even an enemy to its own superiority. [...]

Idea complexes are groups of ideas formed together like building blocks to form more complicated constructions in physical reality.

In The Seth Material, I included only a few brief quotes from “The Physical Universe As Idea Construction,” but here I will go into that manuscript somewhat more thoroughly, since it is so close to the “raw form” that erupted from that experience and represents, in embryo, I believe, the material that Seth would later be giving us. [...]

[...] A species at any given time is the materialization of the inner images or ideas of its individual members, each of whom forms their own idea constructions.

The next plane of existence will involve further training in energy use and manipulation, since the energy of which the entity is composed is self-generating and always seeking more complicated form and awareness.

Now, you have been what would now seem to you to be chaotic energy—forming universes. [...] Each of you is evolving the forms by which you will manifest yourself. [...]

[...] And this does not only apply to the individuality as you know it in this life, but to the energy that is yours that can never be withdrawn in whatever form you find yourself. The memories that are yours now are electromagnetically a part of you; and when your physical form is gone, this remains and you build upon it. [...]

[...] And the vitality that dwells within you has known many forms. [...]

The inwardness, or inward energy which forms all these systems, is the inventive stabilizer; and yet in its search it ever creates new outlets that result in creative chaos, a lack of temporary balance which is then balanced. It is from the inwardness then, operating through its forms, that all innovations come, and from which the most seemingly unexpected developments can be expected.

[...] They are important however; and from what you now know you realize that these energy forms represent mental enclosure units, operating in the same manner as our earlier ones of which we spoke when discussing the early development of energy within the physical field.

[...] As they evolve they may attract other energy forms, and build extensions to the system.

[...] The thought, the original thought, is retained by A. A, however, forms a thought as nearly identical as his possibilities allow it to be. [...] He forms a thought as nearly identical as possible, and interprets it.

Action is basically electrical, but within your field only the most obvious forms of electrical action have been perceived. [...]

Verbalization is not a basic method of communication for in quotes “higher” forms of consciousness, nor is it for lower forms of consciousness. [...]

[...] Such a concept as a sentence would be meaningless to them, and yet pattern is involved in the colors so that the shape and form of a color also has meaning. [...]

[...] There are indeed a body of symbols that are more or less basic within all kinds of perception—bridgeworks from one form of perception to another, since beneath all perceiving systems there is consciousness. [...]

[...] They watched the drama of the “hunter” and the “prey,” seeing that each animal contributed so that the physical form of the earth could continue—but the rabbit eaten by the wolf survived in a dream body that men knew was its true form. [...]

They saw that the earth was simply changing its forms, but that the identity of each unit of consciousness survived—and so, although they saw the picture of death, they did not recognize it as the death that to many people now seems an inevitable end.

3. At first, as I typed this session from my notes a couple of days later, I thought that Seth had contradicted himself here, for earlier in the session he’d stated that “the other creatures of the earth actually awakened before man did, and relatively speaking, their dream bodies formed themselves into physical ones before man’s did.” [...]

[...] This chapter will contain some rather fascinating points, for not only do you form the physical reality that you know, but you are also forming other quite valid environments in other realities by your present thoughts, desires and emotions.

This book was written by a personality called Seth, who speaks of himself as an “energy personality essence” no longer focused in physical form. [...]

[...] Two weeks after it was finished, however, Seth dictated the outline for this present manuscript, in which he would be free to state his ideas in his own way, in book form.

[...] Certainly my writing training aids in the translation of his material and helps give it form, no matter how unconsciously this is done. [...]
