[...] Pleas for help (directed to Jane as well as Seth) were seen as demands — not as opportunities to use abilities — so he felt hounded. He was not sure enough of his new world; he was still enough a part of the old one so that he often saw his life and abilities through the eyes of the “old world inhabitants” — the others who might scorn him, or set him up for ridicule.¹³ They represented portions of his own psyche still at that level of consciousness, not having quite assimilated the greater knowledge or experience, so he felt he needed protection — the protection that would … cleverly … serve all of his purposes, allowing him to go ahead as he wanted to … that would keep him at home working, and yet also serve as a control against too much inner spontaneity until he learned that he could indeed trust the new world of experience.

[...] She felt the transmission go out from her forehead in a straight line toward its destination. [...] After she’d settled down on her right side, she felt it go out again — but from the back of her head now, and still traveling truly north to its Canadian goal.

[...] Still, I felt no concern over my experience.

(11:03.) You told Ruburt that when he came down the stairs (this evening) you felt he would get well. [...]

While Ruburt felt he was doing the right thing, he would put up with almost any inconvenience, or make almost any sacrifice. [...]

You are clearing the sands for them, and giving them new guideposts and in Ruburt’s dream he felt them waiting.

(During this session Jane spoke for three hours in a voice somewhat louder and deeper than usual; and during this time she felt no strain, other than the accustomed tiredness coming at the end of a long day.

[...] This is an important point, for there is an unspecialized, extremely generalized and intuitional knowledge on the part of any portion of the self, as to the nature of experience as felt by the other portions of the self.

After discussing another dream of mine, Seth said good night at 10:11 P.M. “I felt so relaxed before the session I was like a dishrag,” Jane said with a laugh. [...]

This sense would permit our man to feel the basic sensations felt by the tree, so that instead of looking at the tree his consciousness would expand to contain the experience of what it is like to be a tree. [...]
