[...] As your paintings are solidified feeling on board or paper, apparent in the physical universe and therefore vulnerable to the laws of that universe, so is the universe itself on your plane physical materialized feeling, only with more dimension than a drawing or a painting. [...]

Because I say that you actually create the typical camouflage patterns of your own physical universe yourselves, by use of the inner vitality of the universe in the same manner that you form a pattern with your breath on a glass pane, I do not necessarily mean that you are the creators of the universe. [...] But as in your life certain environments tend to encourage some people in the realization of their talents, and seem to hinder others in the development of their peculiar talents, so some personalities expand in their capabilities on your plane; and some who do rather poorly on your plane expand surprisingly on other planes.

Lest this suggest images of graspy potbellied souls, gluttonously grabbing the stuff of the universe for themselves out of the mouths of the less ambitious, let me hasten to inform you that such is not the case.

[...] Nevertheless as you do not deprive another of breath as you breathe, so you do not deprive another of the vitality of the universe simply by the act of using it yourself.

Because mental enzymes seem to give the same effects most of the time in your physical universe, your scientists for years blithely labeled these as the laws of nature, that is, the apparent laws of cause and effect. Now because, if you’ll excuse the pun, a certain cause will usually give a certain effect in your physical universe, you may be justified in saying that these apparent results are laws that operate within your physical universe. [...] The mental enzymes are the same basically throughout the universe, but their materializations on a particular plane are determined by the properties inherent in the plane itself. [...]

[...] They are the living stuff of the universe even as they form its boundaries and seem to divide it into labyrinthian ways, like the inside of a honeycomb.

[...] It is through the inner senses that the mental enzymes are enabled to act upon the vitality which is, as I have said, the structure of the universe itself.

Probable universes are by their very nature existing universes. [...]

[...] Let me briefly continue that early Seth material here: “In drawing up his list of so-called natural laws, I have said (in the 16th session) that man decided that what appeared to be cause and effect to him was, therefore, a natural law of the universe. Not only do these so-called laws, which are not laws, vary according to where you are in the universe, they also vary according to what you are in the universe. [...] And if a tree wrote its laws of the universe, then you would know how different they are.”

[...] So you can theoretically expand your consciousness to include the knowledge of your past lives, though those lives were yours and not yours. [...]

[...] Visible or invisible to you, each fragment of the universe has a consciousness of its own. [...]

The earliest poets were probably half shaman, half prophet, speaking for the forces of nature, for the “spirits” of the living and the dead, voicing their visions of man’s unity with the universe. [...] Perhaps the Seth sessions themselves harken back to some ancient time when we received much of our pertinent information about ourselves in just such a fashion: one of us journeying for the others into the “mass unconsciousness” — a journey that somehow altered and expanded the personality — and then communicating our visions as best we could.

[...] Seth must use my voice to speak and my life as reference, and certainly the contents of my mind are vastly expanded as a result of the sessions. [...]

But however we attempt to define Seth’s reality, I’m convinced of one thing by now: He is delivering to our conscious minds our deepest unconscious knowledge about ourselves, the world, the universe, and the source of Being Itself. [...]

Once again (as in Note 7 for the last session), I quote Seth from the 45th session: “Any investigation of the basic inner universe, which is the only real universe, must be done as much as possible from a point outside your own distortions … To get outside your own universe, you must travel inward … Your so-called scientific, so-called objective experiments can continue for an eternity, but they will only probe further and further with camouflage [physical] instruments into a camouflage universe … The subconscious, it is true, has elements of its own distortions, but these are easier to escape than the tons of distortive camouflage atmosphere that weigh your scientific experiments down.”

And from the 45th session, 20 days later: “… your present theory of the expanding universe is in error. [...]

They help you interpret the universe in horizontal terms, so to speak. In studying the deeper realities within and “behind” that universe, the instruments are not only useless but misleading. [...]

[...] The author explains the various theories for the origin of our observable universe of planets, galaxies, quasars, and so forth, presenting the evidence for and against each theory. Yet when the question arises as to what prevailed before the advent of our universe (or of whether it has existed “forever”), we are told that science doesn’t deal with ultimate origins and endings; we are referred to the realms of theology and/or philosophy for whatever answers are available.

[...] Such expansion reacquaints the known self with the great energy that supports it, therefore bringing an individual to a point of understanding in which the concept of a safe universe makes sense. The idea of a personal universe will be emphasized.

Young people in particular will alter the fields of endeavor, going into the arts or sciences or religions, and expanding them. [...]

[...] You also need the reinforcement yourself of the safe universe concepts.

[...] You can learn to focus your attention away from physical reality, to learn new methods of perception that will enable you to enlarge your concept of reality and greatly expand your own experience.

(Pause at 10:43.) Now often the ego acts as a dam, to hold back other perceptions — not because it was meant to, or because it is in the nature of an ego to behave in such a fashion, or even because it is a main function of an ego, but simply because you have been taught that the purpose of an ego is restrictive rather than expanding. [...]

(Jane’s psychic experiences, Seth said, would themselves initiate other creative endeavors, leading her to delve into deeper, literally unending, universal pools of creativity….

[...] It is concerned with the entity’s working knowledge of the basic vitality of the universe … Without this sixth sense and its constant use by the inner self, you could not construct the physical camouflage universe. You can compare this sense with instinct, although it is concerned with the innate knowledge of the entire universe.”

[...] Nor did she want to try doing anything that might interrupt the magnificence of her greatly expanded state of consciousness. [...]

The concepts in “Unknown” Reality will help expand the consciousness of each of its readers, and the work itself is presented in such a manner that it automatically pulls your awareness out of its usual grooves, so that it bounces back and forth between the standardized version of the world you accept, and the unofficial⁷ versions that are sensed but generally unknown to you.

[...] Reality is above all practical, so when you expand your concepts concerning the nature of reality, you are apt then to find yourselves scandalized, appalled, or simply disoriented. [...]

[...] Consciousness did not come from atoms and molecules scattered by chance through the universe, or scattered by chance through many universes. [...]

[...] Without the consciousness, the matter would not be there in the universe, floating around, waiting for another component to give it reality, consciousness, existence, or song.”

[...] I believe now that they are among those usually present at unconscious levels; but in order to expand the potentials for the creative act as much as possible, I would like to see others learn to cultivate such visions and perceptions on a deliberate, conscious basis. [...]

The material of the physical universe is created spontaneously and constantly, even as the dream locations in the dream world are so created; and as it is impossible in terms of time as you know it to set a point of beginning in the dream world, so it is impossible to attempt to do the same as far as the physical universe is concerned.

[...] In wishing to close himself to such information, Ruburt would wish to close himself off from beneficial knowledge, and from the kind of exploration which in itself expands, and opens barriers that are not really barriers but doorways.

[...] It only applies to your own dimension, and will never make headway in explaining those numberless projections that appear within your universe from a dimension separated from it.

[...] There is indeed an expanding universe, and it is formed in the eternal present. [...]

(Long pause.) The precious privacy of your existence, and indeed of your universe, is all the more miraculous, so to speak, precisely because its probable reality emerges from an infinite field of probabilities, each forever inviolate. [...]

It is almost impossible to begin with concepts of one isolated universe, one self at the mercy of its past, one time sequence, and end up with any acceptable theory of a multidimensional soul or godhead that is anything else but a glorified personified concept of what you think man is.⁶

In a dream, attempt to expand whatever space you find yourself in. [...] Unless you are working out ideas of limitations for your own reasons, you will find that you can indeed expand inner space. [...]

[...] Try to expand any location in which you find yourself. [...] You can walk out of that dream house into another environment; and theoretically at least you can explore that world, and the space within it will expand. [...]

Now: What you think of as exterior space expands in precisely the same manner. [...]

I said (in connection with Practice Element 15) that inner space expands, but so does inner time. [...]
