In many ways history is your built-in past, the obvious events that are significant. [...] As mentioned earlier (in sessions 680–82), your consciousness seizes upon certain events over others and brings these into significance, and therefore into the official reality that you know.

I want to begin a series of sessions dealing in rather practical terms with those events that follow immediately after physical death.

Those who struggled and did not achieve fame for example, will sometimes recreate their past, manipulate hallucinatory relationships and events and achieve it within that counterfeit environment. [...]

(We’ve begun getting letters mentioning Mass Events—all laudatory—and these have helped, as Seth mentioned they would.

[...] I’d forgotten about these events, which contained some striking “hits” on her part. [...]

[...] We will hopscotch back and forth and with our friend Ruburt, for this is also one of his main lines of interest, but your own experience can be used to benefit by the class at large for you must be led to see that you can alter physical events in such a way. [...]

[...] Events will work out as you and Ned have already decided they will work out, and they will work out for the best. [...]

[...] At the same time the dream generated sufficient energy to lift Ruburt and his moods from a slavery to physical events. That is, the dream allowed his native good spirits to return in force, and to operate in a healthy fashion regardless of physical events.

It is interesting to see how the second dream was intertwined with events and concerns having to do with everyday realities.

(During our daily life we do not take the time to describe in detail each dream we have to the other, unless obvious connections arise in future events, or the dream happens to be unusually vivid in some way. [...]

[...] They provide the basis for the physical events, objects, and phenomena upon which you all agree. [...]

[...] You will instead pick up at best the ghost images, probabilities, and private data that are not officially recognized as part of the main reality’s official structure of events.

When you realize this, then you can accept seeming setbacks, or seeming contradictions, with a calm detached air, realizing that such factors appear as they do only in the light of your present intellectual knowledge—a knowledge that must be limited to current events—and that in the larger picture known to you at other levels, such seeming contradictions, or seemingly unfortunate situations, or whatever, will be seen to be to your advantage. [...] Numerous people have written of beneficial events taking place in their lives when Jane did her thing for them, but she’s kept no formal records. [...]

[...] You then try to figure out what is happening but the sense data, you see, means that the event is already distorted to some degree. The physical vehicles that are often perceived are your interpretation of the event that is actually occurring.

[...] The worst thing that could happen would be that once again you restrain the acknowledgement of the pent up, perfectly natural aggression that is now ready to explode — so you send out a thought-form out of all proportion to any of the events that have transpired. [...]

(Since giving the 848th session for Mass Events, on April 11, Seth has devoted three sessions to personal affairs that Jane and I have let go for a long time. [...]

[...] Roger, let us call him, is an idealist at heart, but he believes that the individual has little power in the world, and so he did not pursue his personal idealism in the events of his own life. “Everyone is a slave to the system.” [...]

[...] True or false, we wonder: There never was any danger that the bubble of radioactive hydrogen gas in the core of the disabled reactor would explode; there never was any danger of a meltdown of the core’s uranium fuel; an act of sabotage against the reactor’s primary cooling system set in motion the whole chain of unfortunate events, with their national and worldwide repercussions….

Your idea of judging the quality of life, or of a life, is highly limited, however, for it may not lie in events as you usually think of them on many occasions.

This verbal description must necessarily distort the true picture, because the true events completely escape your vocabulary, but the explanation is valid-enough to give you some idea of what I mean. [...]

[...] The notes Seth referred to are those I wrote this afternoon and tonight for the first session of the latest Seth book, Mass Events. [...]

So do not feel that you are powerless, do not feel that you are at the mercy of events, for you form events not only in this reality, but in these other realities which you do not consciously understand. [...]

[...] You perceive events in the same fashion, almost surface-wise. [...]

[...] Time, in those terms, is simply part of another kind of event.

[...] You are used to projecting your beliefs onto physical objects and events. When you leave your home station, those objects and events no longer present themselves in the same fashion.

Arbitrarily, I chose professional events from our own lives, and thought of all of them as happening at once (as, according to Seth, in a larger framework they do). [...]

Jane, then, wrote those two poems 16 days before she dictated the last session for Seth’s The Nature of the Psyche on April 4, 1977; one month before she began dictating Mass Events on April 18, 1977; two years and two months before she began God of Jane on May 6, 1979; two years and six months before she began dictating the Preface for Dreams on September 25, 1979; two years and eight months before she came up with the idea for If We Live Again on November 15, 1979; three years and five months before she began dictating Seth’s material on the magical approach to reality in Dreams on August 6, 1980; four years before she began dictating Seth’s sinful-self material in that book on March 11, 1981; four years and three months before she began coming through with her own sinful-self information on June 17, 1981; and four years and five months before, on August 26, 1981, she wrote the poem in Note 6 for Session 936 of Dreams: “Something in me / ebbs and tides, / as if I let myself / for a while / be washed away / out to sea / while leaving / some spidery shell / upon the shore /….”

The inner psychological realization is the important event here, rather than, for example, the letter (from Prentice-Hall) itself. The true event is the psychological one. [...]

[...] This appears to be in conflict with accounts we have read, wherein mediums have no awareness or memory of events in trance. [...]

[...] And even when some event intrudes from these systems into your own three-dimensional existence, you are not able to interpret it, for it is distorted by the very fact of entry.

[...] It will attract certain kinds of events rather than others, and it will alter your own psychological structure and hormonal output. [...]

(And here we have an excellent capsule answer as to why Jane has grown progressively worse since beginning Mass Events—see her paper of last December about her unease over that book and God of Jane—and why her symptoms have become even worse as the publication date of Mass Events draws near. [...]
