(After In Search Of ended on TV at 2:30 Jane read the draft of my note for session 896 for Dreams, in which I wanted to know whether she’d ever willed herself sick [as I had] when a youngster, in order to avoid something I wanted to get out of doing. [...]

[...] Other times I would suddenly begin crying as I ate breakfast, or heard a familiar song on television, or sat at my typewriter working on Dreams. [...]

[...] You are a part of these encircling realities and your dreams and thoughts and wishes affect those realities even though you are not consciously aware of this. [...] One of your own dreams rising out from you as its center, it touches and changes these other realities. [...]

[...] While she was thinking it over—at my urging, periodically—I went into my writing room to do some work on the intro for Dreams. [...]

In Dreams (recently) Ruburt tried to assess his psychic experiences, and could not do it. [...]

(First I thought of Seth’s assertion in the 92nd session for September 28, 1964, that “trees have their dreams”; [in Volume 1, see the quotations in Note 1 for Session 698]. [...]

(Jane has also had some very vivid dreams in connection with this material, although she hasn’t written them down and actually cannot recall much about any of them. [...]

[...] Ruburt’s forgotten dream was a clear psychological statement in which all of the elements in his personality momentarily joined not only for a discussion, so to speak, but blended their forces, exerted their energies, and set up a firm intent to clarify the entire situation, and to exert all of their energies in a successful healing venture. (9:03 A.M. Last night Jane had pronounced her work finished on the introductory material for Dreams. [...]

[...] Much of this present manuscript, Dreams, “Evolution,” and Value Fulfillment, deals with the development of the individual as it is primarily concerned with the development of the universe: The two are one. [...]

Jane knew, however, that provided she held the session Seth’s material would be dictation for Dreams. [...]

In a manner of speaking, your universe and all others spring from a dimension that is the creative source for all realities—a basic dream universe, so to speak, a divine psychological bed where subjective being is sparked, illuminated, stimulated, pierced, by its own infinite desire for creativity. [...]

[...] If you would have some idea of what the probable universe system is like, then examine your own dreams, looking for those events which do not have any strong (underline) resemblance to physical events in your own conscious existence. Look for dream individuals with whom you are not acquainted in your waking life. [...]

[...] I am glad that he put his dream book aside for a while, merely because he will have much more data for it within a short time. [...]

[...] They do not exist in the space which you know, but neither are they nonexistent, merely imaginative toys of the dreaming mind, without substance.

(Class had been discussing dream realities, personality, etc., for about an hour; Gert and Sheila began talking back and forth on Sheila’s ideas on separate personalities, when Jane interrupted to say that she had one impression that the “hole in the universe” had opened up in Sam Levine’s house and a crowd of people were flying from it into the room. [...]

[...] You use your inner senses when you are in the dream state, and ignore them when you are waking.

[...] Other portions of these events are quite clear to you both in the dreaming state and beneath waking consciousness during the day.

The mental processes at this deeper level, however, are different of course than your conscious ones, and in dreams, again, there are hints of a deeper kind of knowing, and a deeper kind of unity. When dreams appear bizarre it is only because, awake, you cannot follow the intricate creative unity that unites them. [...]

The dreams with the various apartments were a release, for here at least he could move in new situations, where he felt he was caught now in stationary ones.

Now if you inhibit your feelings you can, to a large extent, even inhibit your dream experience, and this is aside from monitoring your own dream memories. [...]

Other dream events, though forgotten, may also cushion the individual to withstand the effects of such “nightmare therapy.” In the same way that some LSD treatment finally results in a feeling of rebirth (that is often only temporary, however), so a period of such nightmares often leads quite naturally to dreams in which the self finally makes new and greater connections with the source of its own being.

(A one-minute pause at 9:21.) In normal daily life, considerable natural therapy often takes place in the dream state, even when nightmares of such frightening degree arise that the sleeper is shocked into awakening. [...]

[...] The meaning of the light will become even clearer through Ruburt’s dreams,³ the intuitive continuation of the poem, and physical example.

(Jane had recently had some more levitation dreams. The nameless personality said the group had assisted in these dreams, and that Jane had done better psychically, with them, than she had so far done physically. [...]

[...] One of the more interesting points the spokesman made was that much instruction was passed on to our plane of existence through dreams; this when the ego was more relaxed.

[...] Although some instruction was given to personalities on this plane through dreams, it was difficult because of the ever-guarding ego. [...]
