In dreaming, such a dissociated state as Ruburt reached is, of course, the rule, only the ability is used to form dream images. But these dream images work for the entity as a whole and serve as a means for the various personalities to communicate; that is, in many cases, the previous personalities communicate with the present one. This inwardness is so adaptive and self-generating, seeking all outlets and possibilities, that it not only in your case formed a physical universe, but found new ways, operating through the new physical universe, to construct an additional field or plane within and completely through, or on the other side of while yet within the physical universe; this being your dream world, which is made possible because of the physical mechanisms and involvements themselves.

It will be found in some important respects that the dream universe, which began even then, has somewhat the same relationships to the physical universe, but on a psychic level, that the physical universe has to the universe of negative matter. [...]

You are both doing very well, and Ruburt’s dream—the one in which he looked at his face in a mirror—was excellent, and already shows a change of belief that will be most beneficial. [...]

[...] I’d heard her talking to herself, presumably while dreaming in her chair. [...] I felt guilty at leaving her alone while I worked on the preface notes for Dreams after supper. [...]

(It isn’t necessary to go into dates and other details here; but several days before we were told that the Bach story’s originally scheduled appearance in late October had been postponed, Jane had a vivid dream giving her that literal information. [...] Her dream was also fairly accurate concerning the magazine’s cover painting for the piece: a montage featuring “a bird that was somehow a part of a man’s head, or face,” as she described it. (Monday night, Jane had another vivid dream involving the Seth material, herself, and a certain kind of magazine story. [...]

[...] (To me:) You are personally inhibiting your dream recall because you do not want to take the time to remember and interpret the dreams. [...]

[...] The transitions are literally invisible to you, though they may appear as trace elements in your dreams. [...]

(Sunday night, June 6, I had a vivid dream which was clairvoyant, and came to pass the next morning while I was at work. Complete records are in my dream notebook. Before the session I made sure to hope aloud that Seth would discuss the dream, but as can be seen it was not even mentioned. [...] I may ask definitely about the dream during a future session.)

[...] Helen told us she has dreamed of her husband many times, but felt this particular experience was something other than a dream; she stressed its clarity, its reassurance and simplicity.

[...] Ruburt brought up a point, I believe; he observed that the experience of talking occurred in both the waking and the dreaming states, but did not think that these represented primaries.

She told you of an experience that seems to be a dream, in which her husband spoke to her in terms of encouragement. [...]

[...] It is this that frightens you in your dreams. [...]

You are a part of other systems that you do not know, and dreaming portions of your processes exist as thoroughly in other systems as your physical body dwells in this one.
