Jane didn’t tape this new Sumari, though—which we regretted—for she wasn’t able to get out of her chair to hunt for her recorder; I was too charmed just listening to her sing to think of a tape. [...]

[...] Next I got that Plato picked up the Atlantis material himself, psychically — he didn’t get it the way he said he did. [...]

When I said watch the cat I didn’t realize he was going to put on this display. I assure you I didn’t order it.

Consciously you didn’t know what you were up to but unconsciously you knew very well. [...]

It is not that I wasn’t feeling humorous this evening, merely that I didn’t think you could stand the full force of my really astounding sardonic nature. [...]

[...] Practice Element 14 didn’t seem at all familiar to her, though. [...]

(Then I was angry because I had been frightened but was still cautious and didn’t want to get in over my head. [...]

[...] This didn’t register at first though; just felt unusually good, enjoying my walk, conscious of the lightness of my step, aware of a satisfying unity with creation.

[...] I never noticed; it didn’t seem important. [...]

(Jane, for her part, said she didn’t particularly feel like having a session tonight, that she was “doing it just to do it.” [...]

[...] “I just know I didn’t have any of that in my head before the session.”

[...] She wanted to stay here for the night, perhaps leaving her son with her husband — which I didn’t think was a good idea. [...]

[...] “Before the session I didn’t feel a thing. [...] And I didn’t know Seth was going to explain those visions until I got that flash from him just before he came through. [...]

[...] But until Seth said so, I didn’t know he’d explain any of this.”)

(Jane didn’t rub between her eyes — and without leaving her chair she went back into the session within a very few minutes. [...]

[...] Yet, as Jane said recently: “It was there in the poetry all the time, only I didn’t understand.” [...]

([Student:] “Why didn’t you just tell me?”

[...] I didn’t. I looked. [...]

([Joel:] “The reason that Bill didn’t come through a long time ago was precisely as Jane says, and I don’t care what anybody says anymore.”

(We sat for the session at 9:00, as we almost always do, but Seth didn’t appear with his usual promptness. [...]

[...] I was so busy writing I didn’t realize the question had already been considered.)

(Here there was an exchange between Seth and me, in which I didn’t have to take notes. [...]

[...] Though, as I said, I didn’t think of her Sinful Self as something entirely separate from other portions of her personality, but as a part of them. Why didn’t the “Sinful Self” get the message that it’s gone too far, and back off at least somewhat so that the whole personality had room to breathe—to begin physical recovery, in other words? [...]

[...] She said she decided to have a session because sometimes when she didn’t feel well a great session resulted.

(Jane didn’t get the pyramid feeling in any strong way this evening, she said later. [...]

(I now asked Seth: “Can you say a little bit about Sue’s first question, about the astral body of the fetus?” Jane had read Sue’s questions some time earlier, but she didn’t know I was going to ask any of the questions this evening.)

[...] She didn’t feel anything at first, and I did some mail while I waited. [...]

[...] I didn’t know whether I looked forward to it or not, but felt it essential that we get it. [...]

(Yet, I noticed, Jane didn’t seem all that bothered by its implications....)

(At the end of the last session, which was held the day before yesterday, Jane told me that Seth had the rest of Chapter Ten planned; tonight, now, she said she didn’t have the slightest idea of how Seth would continue his work on the chapter.

[...] I expected all the racket to break Jane’s trance, but it didn’t; she paused for a few moments and then continued.)

[...] I wondered whether her body didn’t want to ingest the stronger stuff because it didn’t feel it necessary, etc.

(“Honestly,” Jane said the morning after last Wednesday’s session, “I think I was doing book work in my sleep the whole night — only I kept hearing my own voice instead of Seth’s. I even thought of getting up and trying to write down the material, except that I didn’t think it would really work that way. [...] These sleep-state effects were surprisingly persistent; although they were somewhat reduced when she encountered them again on Thursday night, they didn’t taper off altogether until the weekend. [...]

[...] He didn’t say just how this translation was to be accomplished, though. [...]

[...] It’s one of the very few times the pendulum didn’t help. [...] It didn’t occur to me that I needed a break.)

[...] This was to help you save face: you didn’t take time out because you wanted to, but because you were so miserable that you could not work—and then yelled out in outrage that the body so betrayed you. [...]
