(Jane wanted Seth to discuss her panic feelings tonight, although she didn’t seem overly enthusiastic about a session either. [...]

(We had several questions for Seth, including the one noted at the end of the last session: Why didn’t the unconscious realize it was going too far in its protective role? Why didn’t it back off? [...]

Jane talked to Carole, the medium’s wife who works with him, and stated clearly that she didn’t want others claiming to speak for her Seth—who, incidentally, had told us years ago that he spoke through no one else but Jane. [...] Jane didn’t ask for details on the case, but instead explained to the lawyer something of Seth’s ideas so that the attorney could use that material in his defense, making it clear that above all Seth was not for violence, even though the prosecuting attorney was evidently trying to make the defendant sound as though it was okay to kill because reincarnation was a fact: Since we all lived other lives, no one could really kill anyone. [...] She said she didn’t want more private material that would make her “feel more stupid.” [...]

[...] I didn’t grow up with the consuming urge toward fine art that she developed about writing at an early age. [...]

[...] The urge to learn, perhaps overdone, may be one of the Nebene characteristics, [and as an aside I thoroughly wish the Nebene character did not exist.] But regardless of that, I didn’t think my wish to excel in my chosen field necessarily a poor one. [...]

2. Seth should have said that light can be defined as being made up of waves or particles, but he didn’t put it quite that way, and I let stand what he did say. [...]

(Her panic didn’t last nearly as long as it had yesterday, and I hoped her continued experience of it would lead to its dissipation. [...]

He had another brief-enough surge of blueness this morning (which Jane didn’t tell me about), and the sessions enabled him to cut such experiences short, or to nip them in the bud, so to speak. [...]

[...] He was able to hold the small green plastic bowl with much more confidence this morning—to hold it evenly (Jane didn’t tell me about that, either). [...]

[...] I added that we expected the Dutch translation of the same book to be published later this year, but that we didn’t know just when this would happen — so Jane and I were understandably surprised last Thursday to receive a letter from a reader in Holland, informing us that he’d just purchased a copy of the Dutch edition of Seth Speaks!
