(On Saturday, August 20, Jane received her first press copy of her book from her publisher, F. Fell: How to Develop Your ESP Power.

Coupled with our reservations about the uncertain state of the art concerning nuclear power, Jane and I deeply mourn the shameful fact that for some 30 years now our country’s government and industry have neglected to develop safe methods for the transportation and permanent storage of radioactive waste materials; some of these will remain highly toxic for hundreds of thousands of years, and thus pose potential threats to many many generations. While many people are working in specific areas, developing the intellect, for example, or the emotions or the body, these parents and their children produce offspring in which a fine balance is maintained. No one aspect of mind or body is developed at the expense of another aspect.

(Then in Sayre, Pennsylvania, this afternoon [Monday the 17th], we found ourselves participating in house-related developments that took us back in time more than nine months.⁹ Jane and I don’t believe in coincidences. [...] Today Jane and I very clearly felt those connections — or probabilities, if one chooses — developing. [...]

[...] Without thinking too much about it, we mentally filed this bit of news along with the connections that had developed out of our house-hunting episodes last year; even now, we still didn’t realize just how the complicated relationships between those events of April 1974, and now, were to continue growing. I developed the hilarious notion that if I did the job the way I really wanted to, this introduction would be as long as that first volume is itself! [...]

[...] Special diets, at particular times, restricted ones, can be of benefit in certain specialized areas of development, but there is always the danger of going overboard.

[...] According to Seth, each of us has counterparts in other systems of reality; not identical selves or twins, but other selves who are part of our entity, developing abilities in a different way than we are here.

An entity is composed of what you may call feminine and masculine characteristics, but when all energy is focused into masculine-oriented personalities then a backlog develops, so that the entity is left with only unused, unmanifested, so-far-denied feminine characteristics.

The same sort of situation develops if the male type of characteristic is repeatedly denied fulfillment or manifestation. [...]

[...] The conscious ego also develops in a strange manner through all this, as I will now attempt to explain.

One of the most rare and extraordinary developments that can occur in schizophrenic behavior is the construction of a seeming superbeing of remarkable power — one who is able to convince other people of his divinity.
