[...] In a sense, painting is man’s natural attempt to create an original but coherent, mental yet physical interpretation of his own reality—and by extension to create a new version of reality for his species.”
[...] How can we be, if through the ages we’ve created that history and nature against which we react? In other words, on joint and individual scales, vast though they may be, we do create our joint and individual realities.
[...] They also have different kinds of immediate perceptions of reality. [...] It is not just that all species of life have feeling, but that all participate in dimensions of emotional reality. [...]
[...] You are surrounded everywhere by other kinds of consciousness whose validity you have largely ignored, whose psychic brotherhood you have dismissed—kinds of consciousness in the animal kingdom particularly, that deal with a different kind of knowing, but who share with you the reality of keen emotional experience, and who are innately aware of biological and psychic values, but in ways that have escaped your prejudiced examination.
The rules are that you create your universe—that you create within the system that you know the world that you know. [...] The rules are that this universe is created by the thoughts that exist within each of your minds... [...]

[...] I have not lived many, many lives without a deep understanding of your own kind of reality and problems, but I have not had many other existences that are not physical without a deep understanding of the nature of reality as it is not apparent to you now. [...] Your greater reality exists outside those coordinates, and so does the reality of the universe. (Pause.) You create lives for yourselves, changing them as you go along, as a writer might change a book, altering the circumstances, changing the plots. The writer only knows that he or she creates without understanding the spontaneous order with which the creativity happens. [...]
(Pause.) When you examine the state of dreams, however, you do it as a rule from the framework of waking reality. You try to measure the dimension of dream experience by applying the rules of reality that are your usual criteria for judging events. [...] But in a manner of speaking, it is true to say that the universe was created in the same fashion that your own thoughts and dreams happen: spontaneously and yet with a built-in amazing order, and an inner organization. [...]
[...] You must understand that I am not saying that you are passive, fleeting dreamers, lost in some divine mind, but that you are the unique creative manifestations of a divine intelligence whose creativity is responsible for all realities, which are themselves endowed with creative abilities of their own, with the potential and desire for fulfillment—inheritors indeed of the divine processes themselves. [...]
In the most basic of ways, the world is formed from the inside out, and from dreaming reality into the physical one—and those processes happen at another level of consciousness (quietly emphatic).
[...] And if you do, your consciousness will begin in another reality. You will learn to recognize within yourselves the joy and the true reality of being. You will learn to distinguish between the reality of joy and pseudorealities that you have created, or you will begin again. [...] And you will create with joy and spontaneity when you recognize that within the leaf of a flower the consciousness that is within it, and relate it to yourself, and honor it and treat it as a little brother, you will be free. [...]

[...] Now, there is no reason why each of you cannot experience reality, why each of you cannot travel out of the dimensions that you know. Now, in doing so you will find that the personality is as different as, say, this table viewed from different angles and discover all facets of identity with which three-dimensional reality is by nature ignorant. [...] You can catch glimpses of your own multidimensional reality, but you must escape three-dimensional existence momentarily in order to do so. [...]
[...] They came to you because they wanted you to question the nature of reality more deeply than you have done so. [...] They have their own business to attend to and their own reality to meet and their own challenges to accept, but, they are coming to you so that you will be aware of their continued existence; and also so that you will be aware of the nature of your own inner self which is as free of your physical body now as they are. [...]
In greater terms, the past is definitely created from the present. In your system of reality this does not seem to be the case at all, since your senses project a forward kind of motion outward upon events. “Subatomic particles,” however, appear in your present, rippling into your system’s dimensions, creating their own “tracks,” which scientists then try to observe. [...]
[...] At other levels of reality, atoms behave in a wavelike manner … Give us a moment … Subjectively, you will think of your own thoughts as waves rather than as particles. Yet in the dream level of reality those waves “break” into particles, so to speak. [...] While dreaming you accept that reality as real. [...]
(10:51.) There are psychic structures quite as effective as physical ones, and these underlie the reality of your objective world. [...] In greater terms, the picture of your world at any given time can be compared to the position, behavior, and characteristics of an invisible particle as it is “caught” intruding into your reality.

[...] The physical senses actually can be said to create the physical world, in that they force you to perceive an available field of energy in physical terms, and impose a highly specialized pattern upon this field of reality. Using the physical senses, you can perceive reality in no other way.
[...] Your soul, therefore, possesses the wisdom, information, and knowledge that is part of the experience of all these other personalities; and you have within yourselves access to this information, but only if you realize the true nature of your reality. Let me emphasize again that these personalities exist independently within and are a part of the soul, and each of them are free to create and develop.
This characteristic of materializing thoughts and emotions into physical realities is an attribute of the soul. Now in your reality, these thoughts are made physical. In other realities, they may be “constructed” in an entirely different fashion. So your soul, that which you are, constructs your physical daily reality for you from the nature of your thoughts and expectations.
[...] You create physical reality, yet without knowing how you do so, so that the wondrous structure of the earth itself is meant to lead you to question your own source. [...]

3. See Seth’s material on his units of consciousness, or CU’s, in sessions 682–83 for Volume 1 of “Unknown” Reality. In the 682nd session after 9:47, for example, he discussed relationships between CU’s and probable realities.
The body is obviously continually created during your present lifetime, in your terms. It is not a mechanism once created, then left to fend for itself. [...]
Your own thoughts and beliefs, having the same kind of inner reality, also transform the interior environments of others. [...] It existed in this nontemporal reality then before, in your terms, it was physically materialized, perceived and reacted to.

SETH’S PREFACE:
“THE MANUFACTURE OF PERSONAL REALITY”
APRIL 5, 1972 9:29 PM WEDNESDAY
Seth told us that such images have a definite reality, but we certainly weren’t prepared to hear that someone else encountered our York Beach selves in a dream! “To create them with all our negative feelings was bad enough,” I said to Sue, “but then to cast them loose on their own!”
Having created them because of your abilities, you then perceived them as objectified apparitions in physical reality, when Ruburt immediately made the conscious comparison, and resolved that you should never end up looking like them … or filled with the bitterness that was written in their faces. [...]
[...] They were seen by you as far older, as you interpreted, created and then perceived bitterness and negative attitudes. [...] Such personalities can be created and are created under varying conditions too many to enumerate.
[...] Quite frankly, I didn’t expect any of us to have practical experience along these lines, thinking that any probable realities were beyond our reach. [...] Through our experiences, the concept became a reality with which we were confronted.
(10:02 to 10:20.) There are also realities (pause), that are “relatively more valid” than your own; in comparison, strictly for an analogy, for example, your physical table would appear as shadowy in contrast, as [like] those very shadowy tables we imagine. [...] Yours is not a system of reality formed by the most intense concentration of energy, therefore. [...]
[...] You have indeed other forms that you do not perceive, and you also create various kinds of forms for various purposes, although you do not perceive these physically either.
[...] To help you imagine what I am speaking of, you might think of them as ghost images, or shadow images, though this is only for the sake of analogy — forms, for example, just beneath, that have not emerged completely into physical reality as you know it, but are nevertheless vivid enough to be constructed. [...]
[...] The fantastic energy of your psyche not only created your physical body, but maintains it. [...]
[...] The two of you are miserable together because the two of you created a miserable reality. When you learn to create a positive reality for yourself then you will be able to help someone else create one. [...]
The point I wanted to make is this—each thought is an electromagnetic reality on its own, a unique electromagnetic reality. Now, your thoughts create patterns in dimensions that you do not perceive. [...] You not only attract negative conditions therefore in the physical world that you know, but you open yourselves up to these in the dream reality. [...]
[...] There is no other place where you can lay the blame and it is up to you, to each of you individually, to watch the nature of your thoughts for with your thoughts you created the body that you have, the individual realities that you know. You create your little toe and your elbow and the pupil of your eye and your legs. [...]
[...] None of you are helpless to change events, to change your health or your reality at this moment. [...] Every time you say, I am helpless, and I am slipping into chaos, whether you get laughs or not, or whether you say it humorously or not, you are indeed pushing yourself further into the chaos you are creating with every breath you take because you make no effort to change the nature of your thoughts and this is what you must do, exert your own control. [...]
The creative body consciousness creates the eye. The creative inner psyche creates the ego. [...] Both the eye and the ego are formations focused toward perception of exterior reality.
[...] All consciousness creates the world, rising out of feeling-tone. [...] Feelings and emotions emerge into reality in certain specific ways. [...]
If the books are children symbolically, then in those same terms his representation of my reality is a far more living, three-dimensional aspect. [...] He does not realize that on this level, now, and regardless of my independence and other issues involved, that he creates the personalities free of time, organizes them under the leadership of the conscious mind, and assigns them tasks of great validity and importance, which are then carried out.
[...] In the same way the world as you see it is a reflection of what you are, a reflection not in glass but in three-dimensional reality. You project your thoughts, feelings, and expectations outward, then you perceive them as the outside reality. [...]
Even within the experience of men there are realities that are entirely different from the realities of physical objects. Psychological experience is one such indisputable reality. [...] Secondary effects of such realities may appear in material form, but the original reality of such experiences cannot be captured within physical matter.
These dream locations are realities. [...] As a brief byline here, I mentioned once the Crucifixion, saying that it was an actuality and a reality, although it did not take place in your time. [...] It took place in the same sort of time in which a dream takes place, and its reality was felt undeniably by generations, and was reacted to. Not being a physical reality, it influenced the world of physical matter in a way that no purely physical reality ever could.
They appear to lack the apparent physical durability of, say, a table or a chair, the table and chair being examples of physical realities. And yet their effect is much more durable, and they impress and to some extent manipulate physical realities, in their strong and sometimes explosive emergence into your universe. Such realities do not bow to the artificial time measurements which so often limit you in daily life.
[...] As an individual creates his physical image and environment according to his abilities and defects, and in line with his expectations and subconscious and inner needs, so does he create his dreams; and these interact with the outer environment which he has created.
[...] You create the accidents. You create the triumphs. Now, each of you create the ambiguous universe that you live in, and you project your ideas of reality upon it. [...]
[...] Five, representing the five fingers and the ways in which the hand itself, with the five fingers, can operate in physical reality. [...] They are objects, the five fingers, of manipulation in physical reality. [...]
[...] Travelers in a space and time that you have both created. Actors wearing different masks, but in a play that you have both created. [...]
[...] Therefore, you are forced to ask about the nature of reality. You are angry because you do not understand, as yet, the nature of reality and you have no answers but you can learn the proper questions. [...]
[...] You create from nothing the experience that is your own. [...] But realize also that you are responsible for your joys and triumphs, and that the energy to create any of these realities comes from the inner self. [...]
[...] Every thought that you have now changes reality. Not only reality as you know it, but all reality. [...]
[...] You cannot be hounded from one level of reality to another by a fear that you do not understand. [...] Each of your personalities are free to accept and develop, from the miraculous banks of reality, those experiences and emotions that you want, and to reject those you do not want.
[...] You form the reality that you know, not esoterically, not symbolically, not philosophically. [...] You have in the past, collectively and individually, blamed a god or a fate for the nature of your personal realities — those aspects, indeed that you did not like.
[...] But no one creates your private reality but you.
[...] This does not apply to the two of you alone, but to your world at large: you make your own reality through your beliefs. You want to keep your beliefs yet change your reality—I am not referring to you personally here now—but this is impossible.
In your terms and in your probability, your parents’ lives are over, completed, and when in your reality you paint a picture it is finished, completed; and yet even in that context it outlives your completion of it, and endures. [...]
[...] The memories and realities within that portrait are yours to learn from and to use as a model for other such living portraits in time and space.
Actually it can be said that since the self creates its environment, then the environment is an extension of the self. The division between the subject who creates the environment, and the object-(hyphen) environment, which is created, is an artificial but necessary development.
This merely means that the characteristics of their reality differs from the reality of physical construction. There is always an inner comprehension of such constructions, but the conscious mind has its purpose of dealing with the world of physical construction, is itself a physical construction, and unaware of other realities.
[...] What is perceived changes, as what is created changes.
[...] The ideas once originated, however, are given energy reality by the individual and therefore attain a vitality of their own. [...]
