All physical matter is idea construction. We only see our own constructions. So-called empty space is full of constructions not our own that we cannot perceive. Our skin connects us to other physical constructions, and through it we are involved in the complicated fabric of continuous matter. The action of each one of the most minute of these particles affects each other one. The slight motion of one grain of sand causes a corresponding alteration in the distribution of the stars and in all matter’s fabric, from an atom in a man’s skull down to the slightest variation in a microbe’s action.

At no point can we actually say that one construction vanishes and another takes its place, but artificially we adopt certain points as past, present and future, for convenience. At some point, we agree that the physical construction ceases to be one thing and becomes another, but, actually, it still contains elements of the “past” construction and is already becoming the “next” one.

Sleep is the entity’s rest from physical idea construction. Only enough energy is used to keep the personal image construction in existence. The entity withdraws into basic energy realms and is comparatively free from time since idea construction is at a minimum level. The entity is in contact with other entities at a subconscious area.

This applies generally with most other idea constructions, and later we will discuss the construction of an unfamiliar idea into physical construction which is then classed as an invention. Your constructions of the television set are further aided by other hidden unconscious data, such as the material best suited for the constructions, the general size, shape and color with which you have previously been familiar. [...] If the three of you turn your attention to the set, the first one to consider it will form the so-called initial construction. [...] Your construction of the set, Joseph, will involve the use of energy formed into various combinations of atoms and molecules; and these themselves give off vibrations that are received subconsciously, and also serve therefore to give indications of approximate location, bulk, and even particular material and color, to the subconscious mind of any observer, so-called; although he does not see your construction but forms his own, more or less in faithful replica, to what he has subconsciously perceived telepathically from you and any other constructor, from generalized notions of the idea behind the construction, and from vibrations and even impacts received from the atoms and molecules that compose other constructions of the so-called single object.

[...] The bug that he saw was a different construction from the bug that was seen by either of you, and all three constructions were different from the bug’s physical construction of himself. These bug constructions, by various means which we shall discuss, tallied in your camouflage space to an amazingly approximate degree.

It is true that generally your energy is focused into physical construction and manipulation. [...] However, all ideas and all energy is constructed in one way or another. Those ideas which are impractical to construct physically, either for psychological or psychic reasons, are channeled into construction on other planes or levels.

This merely means that the characteristics of their reality differs from the reality of physical construction. There is always an inner comprehension of such constructions, but the conscious mind has its purpose of dealing with the world of physical construction, is itself a physical construction, and unaware of other realities.

A weak ability to draw upon energy will yield poor constructions. The pulsations inherent in the atoms and molecules of the constructions are, of course, picked up by others. The shoddy construction, never perceived at all by the outer senses, is registered by the inner senses.

This does not mean that apparitions are only the result of such construction on the part of the perceiver. The perceiver constructs the pseudomaterial apparition as he constructs the physical image of his contemporaries, but in, or rather and in line with telepathic data that is received by or from the consciousness whose material image is being constructed.

You recall we spoke of primary and secondary physical constructions. [...] An apparition constructed as a result of telepathic data, picked up by the perceiver in message form, will be constructed by him in precisely the same manner that an apparition will be constructed that is a reflection of a survival personality.

[...] Some apparitions are constructed by the perceiver and are basically caused by a telepathic communication. [...] All apparitions however, to appear as or within the physical system, must be constructed by the perceiver in the same manner that all physical objects are constructed.

This error may become habitual, coloring all other psychological structures, and resulting in unfortunate and dangerous physical constructions. [...] The physical construction is then perceived by the outer senses as threatening and fearful, and influences through the outer senses the inner individual, so that he begins a vicious circle in an attempt to form further, more threatening physical constructions to combat the earlier ones. And the greater the number of such destructive physical constructions, the greater his expectation of further fear.

[...] These prerequisite psychological forms exist before the construction of matter and physical form by an individual. He grapples with, and manipulates and juggles these inner psychological shapes before constructing them, his version of them, into physical form.

[...] Before physical construction can occur therefore, psychological perception, manipulation and construction of inner data or inner structures must be performed.

The cooperative aspects of consciousness construction forms the whole fabric of your material universe. A subdivision of primary construction can be called the distortive mirror construction, which would include of course the physical construction of another physical being in birth.

A primary construction is a psychic gestalt, formed into matter by a consciousness of itself. Such a primary construction is an attempt to create, in the world of matter, a replica of the inner psychic construction of the whole self.

Such a primary construction allows consciousness to operate, manipulate and be perceived in the world of matter. The physical construction of consciousness never is complete as far as fulfilling the inner purpose is involved; that is, consciousness can never fully construct itself in matter, and to do so would indeed imprison such a consciousness so that it could not escape the transient nature of matter itself.

[...] However, aggressions can be turned into constructive terms if care is used. Aggressions should be, as soon as possible after their recognition, turned into constructions. If not, consciously you forget the aggression; the energy stores up until it explodes in what we will call an unsupervised construction.

The constructive changing around of the apartment was instinctively correct, however, as was your agreement in both of these instances. Physical activity is an excellent way of using and controlling the effect of aggressive reaction, and will prevent the buildup of aggressive emotions into unsupervised physical constructions, and also prevent the habitual piling up of such aggressions, where detrimental constructions result continually.

[...] It is the framework for his physical constructions, and more than atoms and molecules it represents the psychic building blocks from which his constructions will be erected.

You can indeed to a large measure train yourself to react to constructive rather than impeding suggestions. [...] This also implies that some part of the personality does the choosing, and is capable of distinguishing a constructive suggestion from an impeding one. And here it is necessary that we discuss more thoroughly the nature or characteristics of constructive suggestions versus impeding ones, for one may turn into the other.

The chair is being fully constructed simultaneously and instantaneously. Since the individual constructs matter, and indeed constructs his own physical universe, he can improve these constructions; and his expectations are intimately connected with the subconscious mechanism of construction itself.

[...] There are perspectives of which you know relatively little, and they in turn are frameworks, forming physical constructions, actual physical constructions, which you do not perceive.

The mechanisms involved in the actual construction of matter are all intertwined and closely connected. You give constructions their appearance of continuity by continually creating them in line with your expectations, based upon among other things, previous constructions in the apparent past; and these expectations are the result of psychic communication between yourselves and others, particularly from parents, who give the child his first conceptions of the environment which, indeed, his parents have created.

Since you construct objects, you can therefore construct them more to your convenience when you realize that matter can thusly be manipulated. There are of course different methods of construction suitable for various fields, and in some instances the same atoms and molecules can be utilized by inhabitants of more than one field.

[...] You perceive portions of the endless sea of molecular constructions. [...] That is, one burst of sea spray, while separate for a moment, is like all other sea spray in its basic components and construction.

When I speak of bettering material constructions, I speak of more perfect constructions, more faithful replicas of thought into matter, and hence I speak of the breaking up of unfortunate cycles caused by the influence of shoddy physical constructions in environment, that in turn color the inner self’s notion of the material world.

[...] The seasons as you know represent the physical construction of the inner psychic climate. As particular portions of matter are transformed, as the inner self, through the inner senses creates a simple material object that is picked up by the outer senses clearly as, say, a table, so are these other constructions that closely mirror inner reality that are perceived by the outer senses as effects.

You construct your own camouflage existence as the spider constructs his web, but you are not aware of the threads. [...] The spider’s construction is severely limited to one plane, but this is not the case with your constructions, which may have reality on many planes at once, and in ways with which you are not familiar.

If energy is imprisoned or focused into the physical construction to the extent that a construction appears on your plane, while still not fully constructed, left incomplete in some aspects, to that extent the idea behind the construction is not bound by physical laws.

[...] I would like to repeat again the fact that in many instances, and with exceptions, ideas not fully constructed on your plane not only have great force but are also freer from the effects of physical laws. The idea has at its command then greater and varied methods of expression, and from it varieties of construction can be attempted. [...]

They also attempt physical constructions to a limited degree, and with limited success.

It is obvious that physically there is no one self, since the molecules and atoms that construct the cells, that construct the organs, change constantly. [...]

Denying energy to such a construction can be like pricking a balloon. [...] The prick however is comparable to a conscious and subconscious denial of the construction’s validity. [...]

To replace it with a new construction, it is a good idea to suggest that the old construction has indeed vanished, and in its place a new more acceptable one is being built. [...]

[...] The manner in which the subconscious translates energy into construction of physical matter, again, has been covered in our sessions previously. However it is imperative that the idea be understood thoroughly, for here we have no vague and nebulous theory indeed, but a most practical and definite explanation of the manner in which you yourselves construct not only your own physical image, but indeed your own physical environment.

When you replace this with a constructive thought, you are sending that constructive suggestion to which he will also react. [...]

I told you to tell yourself: I will only react to constructive suggestions. If however, you find yourself harboring a negative suggestion, then instantly counter it by replacing it with a constructive one.

[...] He should then often give himself the following suggestion: “I will only react to constructive suggestions.” [...]

Again, the only main difference between material and immaterial constructions is that immaterial constructions are not perceived by the outer senses. These immaterial constructions include among others dream constructions, and also certain intangible, necessary constructions upon which the material worlds rest.

There are other constructions, quite as valid, which make little or no impression on the outer senses, but constructions with which the inner self is fairly familiar; and these so-called immaterial constructions exert a strong influence indirectly upon the world of physical construction.

[...] Remember that the subconscious is at the outer end of the inner senses, and the inner senses create physical constructions. Once you learn how to handle and communicate with your subconscious, then you will be able to create more constructive constructions—
