[...] When Jane opened the double sealed envelopes, she found the pepper had settled in a loose line at the bottom of the inside envelope; thus it formed a fine patterned edge, which also consisted of black and lighter colored grains even though the pepper is called black, in actuality less than half of it seemed to be black, literally.

(The balance of the session tonight after these two important revelations, consisted of an interchange between us that stressed reassurance upon my part,; including the statement, repeated often, that Jane now understood she didn’t need her symptoms any longer, that they could begin to disappear. [...]

[...] You did not until recently make a practice of communicating feelings to each other on any consistent basis. [...]

[...] The conscious mind, again, tries to obtain overall integrity and unity, lining up its beliefs into some kind of consistent system. [...]

[...] Later in the session Jane felt that Seth was taking her on a guided tour of Jerusalem, way back in the first century A.D. None of this consisted of book work, though, so the session remains in our files along with other material that we hope to publish one day.

[...] The chapter actually consists of her long poem, “A Psychic Manifesto,” which she wrote in July 1979. [...]

(Since Jane had developed the photograph idea so consistently in the test, we thought something must have happened to put her on that track, and we said aloud that we hoped Seth would deal with the reasons for this before ending the session.

[...] (In those terms, the one exception is the hydrogen atom, which evidently consists of but one proton and one electron cloud, or “smear.”) For the simple purposes of this note, then, I’m leaving out considerations involving quantum mechanics, which concept repudiates the idea of “particles” to begin with.
