The official line does have its role, of course — but once again, by itself it must remain isolated from the deep, creative, healing functions of body consciousness. The official line of consciousness is really the “worrier,” because it recognizes that it can only go so far, and usually it is not educated enough to realize it is itself sustained and supported — and now I bid you a fond good afternoon, and I do indeed adjust those coordinates that do quicken Ruburt’s healing processes.

[...] That material, however, is “excellent medicine,” and can indeed be life-saving (intently). It is indeed unfortunate that those beliefs that show themselves so simply and effectively in nature seem so mysterious to the usual line of official consciousness.

[...] At times it does become invisible to him, so a part of experience that he does not consciously realize it as an idea about his reality, and not a statement of truth regarding his nature.

When he thinks he is consciously giving himself good advice, he if often speaking to himself with the voice of the usually unconscious belief. [...]

[...] From my present viewpoint I had no idea if she’d consciously or unconsciously experienced any influx of energy resulting from the death of a probable self during that decade. [...]

(As we talked, Jane decided to go back into trance; she was getting so many “bleed-throughs” on the material herself that she was beginning to feel consciously confused. [...]

(Of course, the advice to take Jane home was exactly what she wanted herself, so one could say a bit bluntly that she was merely saying what she consciously wanted. I had the feeling when she spoke those opening words tonight that they constituted a blend of her own conscious desires plus those of the trance personality, whatever “its” status may eventually prove to be.)

As I have often said, there are concepts most difficult to explain, particularly concerning the nature of consciousness, for often in your frame of reference certain concepts, quite valid, can appear contradictory so that one will seem to invalidate the other.

[...] The mosaics of consciousness are brilliant to behold.

[...] Yet the mosaics of consciousness are more like lights, radiating through themselves and through a million spectrums.

Having created them because of your abilities, you then perceived them as objectified apparitions in physical reality, when Ruburt immediately made the conscious comparison, and resolved that you should never end up looking like them … or filled with the bitterness that was written in their faces. The conscious notice, therefore, was all you knew of the deep unconscious creative endeavor and psychological mechanism that brought them into existence.
