“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

As I have told you, to some extent then projection is involved, both on my part and on Ruburt’s. The question, am I always available to you when you want me, is based upon the old limited concept of personality (pointing to Sue, humorously), for even our friend here can be in two places at the same time—and I have had more training.

I want to begin simply by having you question some concepts taken quite for granted—to question much (emphatically).

(At my suggestion Jane has started a notebook in which to record experiences with her “beam of energy,” a concept I personally find most interesting, and with out-of-body trips, and other such adventures. [...]

[...] When you read the news or hear it, however, because of cultural beliefs you are programmed to behave in a certain fashion, in a fashion that validates, seemingly, the concepts of Freud and Darwin, and the most unfortunate aspects of Christian pessimism.

It is not that I am holding back so much as that, in your terms, what follows is dependent upon an understanding of concepts presented earlier. [...]

5. Seth’s concept of the moment point is implicit in his material as I quote it in Note 1 for this session. [...]

In other words I am telling you that your present beliefs, in a manner of speaking, are like the directions given to the entire personality, simultaneously organizing and reorganizing past experience according to your current concepts of reality.

When you are trying to alter your beliefs, look through your past with the new conceptions in mind. [...]

[...] Here we have two of your most basic idea camouflage structures: your conception of time as a succession, and your idea of cause and effect.

The distortive illusion of successive moments, and of the resulting conception of cause and effect, are both on your plane the result of the observation by the outer senses, and are practical and useful on your plane and therefore have a certain validity, if for you only.

[...] Seth discussed many of his basic concepts, the wedding of the intellect and the intuitions, his reality and our camouflage physical one, Seth Two, language, myth, and so forth. [...]

10. In terms of linear time, and in keeping with Seth’s material in this session, Jane and I obviously think his concepts are both old and new — while being “totally original,” as Sue Watkins noted.

[...] Here she thought that Seth was dealing with a concept that was not suited for expression in words, nor was it meant to be expressed in words. [...]

[...] All of these concepts are most difficult to translate into word patterns.

[...] A false conception of energy however results in a psychic refusal to transform completely available energy into physical terms, merely because of the subconscious belief that such a transformation is basically impossible.
