“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(For the last two weeks we have been busy with affairs related to the recent death of my father.)

(No session was held last Wednesday night because Jane and I were so busy checking the copyedited manuscript for James. [...]

[...] You’re very close-mouthed: You don’t blab our personal business, but you’d do that…. [...]

[...] You had furthermore decided, and separately, before you met, to avoid conventional long-term relationships in the world of business. [...]

(We also agreed to try to get something for Frank Longwell, who has embroiled himself in a bind with taxes, business, “the Edgecomb affair,” and related troubles, mostly unknown to us until very recently.

(Long pause.) Your mother believed that a man should work so many hours a day in conventional ways, whether he owned his own business or worked for others—and also of course that he should have a family. [...]

[...] The business involving Leonard is the only major event that’s penetrated my own attempts to concentrate in the moment, since I embarked upon that endeavor some weeks ago. [...]

(It’s been a very busy period for us otherwise, too. [...]

[...] She could only speculate that the “Yale business” had something to do with the short session, even though she wasn’t consciously aware of it. [...]

[...] Then there’s Jane’s business and personal correspondence; much of her poetry; her journals; her unfinished autobiography; several novels she wrote before publishing the three Oversoul Seven books; the later essays she dictated to me, while in the hospital, about Seven’s childhood; her family history as far back as it can be researched; an objective biography of her physical and creative lives including her two marriages, and Jane’s and my struggles to survive before the advent of the Seth material. [...]

[...] You would usually do this in the dream state, but this is often accomplished just below the level of waking consciousness, and is blotted out by you as you go about your daily business.

[...] Following this period there is an active state, that can occur, of pseudodreaming, where the mind busies itself with physical concerns that have managed to cling through the first two stages.

[...] Some of this rapport business will take care of itself through the natural course of events, in your letters back and forth for example. [...]

(Tonight John told us that on September 2 he was meeting at his home in Williamsport, PA, with his district manager, and that of course business was discussed. [...]

[...] Since returning to the house, though, I’ve had absolutely no time at all for the mail, and have stopped answering it except for business and an occasional exceptional letter, or a request for a visit, etc. [...]

(I have no ideas at all as to the moving-back-to-Sayre business goes. [...]

(The page proofs for Jane’s The World View of Paul Cézanne arrived in the mail from her publisher this morning, and she’s been busy correcting them most of the day since — checking the type for errors in spelling, punctuation, omission, and so forth.)

[...] We stayed with our Monday–Saturday evening session routine, though, and kept busy with all of our other projects.¹
