(Our last session, the 775th, was not book dictation. Instead, Seth devoted it to “strings of consciousness” — explaining why Jane “picked up” the “William James” material, which is discussed in her book, Psychic Politics. [...]

[...] She’s worked each day at her third novel on the adventures of Oversoul Seven, and has heard often from Sue Watkins about Sue’s progress with her book on Jane’s ESP class: Conversations With Seth.¹ And with all of her other activities, Jane has held four sessions since the 14th: two personal ones, and two [842–43] on matters other than book dictation.

(Although Seth didn’t call this session book dictation, Jane and I decided to show portions of it in Mass Events for two reasons: 1. The material in Note 1 can be taken as an extension of the discussion on reasoning and the intuitions that Seth gave in the 825th session. 2. We want to offer his comments on Jonestown and Three Mile Island in the order received, even if they don’t always come through within the context of “official” book sessions. [...]

(Today Jane read all day, finishing up J. B. Priestley’s book, Man and Time, which she liked very much. She had read nothing by Priestley before, nor by Dunne, mentioned extensively in the Priestley book. [...] Both instances concerned the Priestley book, which had excited her.

[...] She came across the Priestley book while browsing in the library recently. We have heard of Dunne, of course, but have yet to read any of his works; for some reason the library here has none of his books.

[...] Before the session she had remarked that she hoped Seth would mention Priestley’s book. [...]

[...] She had finished the Priestley book just before supper, and said she hadn’t had time to think it over; but someone had been thinking it over.)

[...] Her first book-length fiction, The Rebellers, had been published (as a paperback) that summer, and she was experimenting with several new ideas. [...] Yet were she to do the book now, Jane says, she’d have to rewrite it completely.

There are many other deep psychological connections beneath schizophrenic behavior, but since this book is also devoted to other subjects, we will go on to other ways in which conflicting beliefs bring about mental or physical dilemmas.

[...] Although a few hundred copies of this book may have been shipped, it hasn’t really come out yet. [...]

I do intend to begin my own book now, very shortly, for this will give a new organization to the material, and direct the flow of information. [...]
