“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

In one of our books (Rob grimaced — much laughter), I will take many chapters to answer.

(And here we have an excellent capsule answer as to why Jane has grown progressively worse since beginning Mass Events—see her paper of last December about her unease over that book and God of Jane—and why her symptoms have become even worse as the publication date of Mass Events draws near. [...]

Beside this, people were reading our books, so to the Sinful Self Ruburt was leading those people astray (deliberately). [...]

[...] She then said that she also thought my feelings about Prentice-Hall had influenced my feelings about Seth’s next book more than my feelings about her did. [...]

The main issues with which the Sinful Self was concerned were focused most clearly in Mass Events and God of Jane, since more than the other books they represent a direct confrontation “attacking” the very legitimacy of the entire concept of sin and evil, insisting more dramatically on the good intent of man’s basic impulses. [...]

[...] Ruburt, reading from a book, would still have to receive and translate that information without knowing the endless manipulations necessary. The same sort of inner calculations would have been involved by the author of the book. [...]

(11:09.) You have often said that these books were Ruburt’s. That is true. [...]

[...] It is meaningless to say that the books are Ruburt’s. Your ideas of “perfection” and love of detail, or if your prefer, your feeling for the significance of detail that appears exteriorized in your notes, is as present in the inner consistency of the material itself as given by me.

Let Ruburt attend, not to his book so much as to the ideas within it that give it meaning—and I bid you a fond good evening. [...]

(It is Seth’s interpretation of Jane’s very interesting dream of this morning, and was given after he had finished dictation for the evening on Chapter 22 of his book: Seth Speaks—A Goodbye and an Introduction.

[...] Our books are being read by many “important people” in medicine, science, religion, and the arts. [...]

[...] The books are being read, though you do not go on tours. [...]

You are particularly sensitive here because of the male beliefs of your culture, and the feeling that Ruburt’s books are his rather than, say, yours. [...]

[...] Hence, you do not make any simple, joyful remarks, like “The book will be out in England or Germany,” and indeed, you take little pleasure from that, but leap ahead to the imagined threats. [...]

[...] Presumably Seth refers to the writings she has sent out recently. Her publisher, F. Fell, has written expressing interest in her book on the Seth material and on the poetry book described in the 232nd session, page 269. Jane has also received a letter concerning some of these poems from Playboy Magazine, regarding their consideration for publication as a book. [...]

[...] I am glad that he put his dream book aside for a while, merely because he will have much more data for it within a short time. [...]

[...] After this session I remembered that the Wilburs are reading what we call Book One of the Seth material. [...]

(9:58) A note: Ruburt is making some important connections, as he is involved with his book now (The God of Jane). [...]

This is not book dictation.

Therefore his relationship with Tam Mossman was quite valuable to him, for it took a good deal of the unpredictable nature out of free-lance writing; particularly where projects like books were concerned rather than short stories, and particularly in an area that was itself controversial. [...]
