(There was some water in the cellar last night from the steady downpour of yesterday. I mopped some of it before the old mop went to pieces, so I must buy a new one. It rained part of the night, and a bit more this morning. It was very warm again — 42 degrees — as I left for 330.

(After her lunch I read to Jane the same two sessions I’d read her yesterday — for February 1 and 5. I told her that my question for Seth is, why did the fever business start after her initiation of Day 1 of her new program? There must be many connections.

You and Ruburt have had the feeling many times — but what we are trying to do is change over completely from one mode of operation to another, and to construct, say, new inner blocks of meaning that will give rise to the next era.

(Long pause at 4:44.) What you are involved in then is really, of course, a completely new educational procedure, so that you are at least able to distinguish one style of thought from another, and therefore be freer to make choices.
