(10:38 PM. True, Jane’s knees have been changing quite a bit lately. Some of the changes have resulted in very painful moments for her, as today; at other times she does well. Today is one of the few times she’s missed walking since she began her exercises.
(Added the next day, as I type these notes: The discomfort returned at times, but not to the extent of yesterday. It has the unfortunate effect, of course, of making Jane hesitate to try getting on her feet each time, whether to change chairs, go to the john, or whatever—an effect she tries hard to counter each time. Usually she is able to move sufficiently well without great discomfort. But she reports that there’s no doubt the knees are more flexible—and noisier—than before.
(Seth’s reference to—concerns a new Oversoul Seven book Jane has just begun. Ironically enough, the first episodes are built around a dentist, and these stemmed from her own recent experiences with extractions, as given in the just-previous deleted sessions. Already, Paul O’Neill has loaned her two books on the history of dentistry....)
