(Yesterday I finished typing up the 841st session, so now I’m all caught up on the sessions that had piled up while Jane and I worked checking the page proofs for Volume 2 of “Unknown” Reality, Psyche, and similar matters. Now I’m organizing my files for new work, doing some painting, and making a few picture frames for both of us, a very pleasant interlude for a change. Today I picked up the lawnmower from the dealer who services it; tomorrow I take the cats, Billy Two and Mitzi, to the vet for their first encounter with Doc Davidson.

(“It’s liable to be a short session,” Jane said at 9:15,” I’m just doing it because I don’t want to miss a turn.” She was very relaxed, and had had a pleasant day. “I’m just waiting now,” she said at 9:25. “I hate to do that....”

Now: you read an article about a child suddenly cured of arthritis by a healer, and you wondered about it. (See attached clipping.)

The disease showed itself early. The mother wanted the child to stay still, was worried lest it fall. It was actively motivated toward lack of motion. Such exaggerated fears, of course, were a strong element in the family itself, so that the family did not feel free to move. The woman was not easy in social life, and could now stay home to care for the small invalid.

It is possible that such a healing can automatically give the family as a whole a new set of beliefs. If not, of course, one member or another may become ill, or the child might have a relapse. As probabilities go, however, the child’s experience is enough to show it that such illness can indeed vanish overnight. Now that knowledge is a part of that child’s experience, and the cure will be the great event of his life, in that it will always be in the back of his mind as he grows.
