(I might add that her bodily changes keep taking place in the rhythms that Seth has mentioned often. Today, for example, her stomach muscles haven’t bothered her at all, as they had so much last Monday, as described in the session then.... Jane said that she thought tonight’s session would be a short one.)

Give us a moment.... Other questions before the last page, however, might be, does Ruburt equate being out of condition with modesty, or humility? Does he equate flamboyancy with showing off in a negative fashion, showing that being physically retiring could be construed as a virtue. His body is resilient, and it is responsive, or it would not be reacting so agreeably and definitely to your new suggestions and its activities. The very changes are proof of its powers of recuperation and resiliency.

(10:07.) Give us a moment.... I want to stress that Ruburt’s body is responding remarkably well, and that it is not a matter of operating better in a restricted posture, but a much more significant response, in which the body is, quite simply, straightening itself out. Without that, normal walking would be most difficult. At this rate, it will not be long before the muscular activity makes Ruburt’s walking operationally better, for the muscles are incredibly strong and resilient, despite restraints they had been held in.

I told you a long time ago that Seven would be a movie (probably at its time of publication in July, 1973).

(With a wry, quiet look:) I would like Ruburt to soak his knees following the session, and Ruburt wanted me to add that he is most appreciative of your efforts in his behalf. You are each at a turning point, however, of a most beneficial nature.

(10:29 PM. For the record: Tuesday last, Alan Neuman called Jane to tell her that he had decided to make a movie of Seven himself, instead of trying to interest others in doing so. Presumably this means he will try to arrange financing, etc. He told Jane a lot of technical and legal details she didn’t very well understand, but he is certainly sincere, she thinks, about Seven. He told Jane that he would have some news for her “within a month”—which would be fast service indeed. He stressed that he wanted Jane to have good legal protection, and a say in quality control. Jane told him in her subsequent letter that we are relying upon Prentice-Hall and John Nelson to tell us what to do about legal advice when the time comes, if it does.
