Mysticism itself involves, basically, encounters with the art of being—a kind of creativity that in usual terms may produce no product at all, creative or otherwise. Such experiences may be translated into poetry or art or whatever, but initially they involve a spiritual encounter with reality. This encounter promotes a heightened state of creativity, even though, again, a creative product per se may not show.

Ruburt got so he wanted such encounters only if they fell into his ideas of work. I wanted to begin this material this evening. The main point for now that I want to make is that Ruburt does indeed perceive the world differently, and he cannot try to force that vaster kind of perception into the narrow confines of ordinary work ideas.

One note: your encounter with your mother was, as you know, quite valid. It was closer on her part to you than on your part. That is, she was more aware of you than you were of her. Speaking to her mentally at times could be quite helpful, particularly during, say, your naptime. End of session.
