I said I must deal with the situation according to your individual and joint understanding at any given time. In some periods, for example, certain methods will work better than others. It is natural enough in stressful situations to fluctuate, so that when you have been largely in a Framework 1 reference, I often give you advice geared to it, while allowing you avenues out of it into Framework 2. The morning suggestions are Framework 2 openers, so to speak.

Now: in Framework 1 you often use too much force to get what you want. You often ignore imagination, and believe in making things work. You try to force events. That is what Ruburt was trying to do, say, several days ago. Understand that per se, basically, Ruburt has nothing against walking. Not walking well in the past served certain purposes. One was to avoid distractions, as you know—distractions often being things he would otherwise like to do.

The impulse to do the floors, however, creatively stimulated Framework 2 activity. This is very difficult to explain, so that you avoid contradictions, but in the larger sense (underlined four times) no effort is required.

I remind you often of the behavior of muscles, and so forth, so that you will not be suddenly upset when Ruburt has bad days, or discomfort, because I realize that that has been largely your framework of reference, and it is of no benefit for me to ignore your beliefs in that matter—and what I have said applies. You are dealing with—in a way, now—two separate sets of “facts,” and each work, so when you insist upon emphasizing the facts of Framework 1, then there is apt to be soreness as muscles readjust, uncomfortable periods, and rules that must be followed, like walking every hour, or walking at least once a day or face feelings of hopelessness, or whatever.

I do not expect you to suddenly switch all of your orientation in this situation to Framework 2—yet again I have hope (louder) of gently enticing you both to take great-enough advantage of Framework 2, so that you have more confidence and experience with its qualities.

Framework 1 always concentrates upon impediments. There is something to be conquered, and force must be used. Early man’s identification with the natural world so led him to feel a part of it that he did experience a kind of being-with the universe in a personal manner or context. He did not think of impediments in that manner.

[... 1 paragraph ...]

Ruburt’s body can perform better. There are no impediments to prevent it. His arms can comfortably release themselves, and his trunk, and in perfect rhythm with his legs, knees, and feet. These ideas, accepted, work automatically, though some time in Framework 1 would be involved necessarily; but the releasing ease and the gradual overall improvement would be quite perceivable.

Your pendulum exercises—and again, they were helpful—were still largely Framework 1 references. The pillow pounding was simply meant to allow physical expression that would vary on different days, and would open the body to the idea of the normal exertion of such energy. When you number the number of times, and so forth, then you are dealing with something else, with Framework 1 reasoning. All that can spread over into other activities.

When you do the morning suggestions then, keep Framework 2 in mind, for you are placing your intents there. The writing-down of feelings and any subsequent pendulum follow-through on specific feelings or events allows you to deal with necessary Framework 1 activity.

[... 2 paragraphs ...]

I want you to keep Framework 2 in your minds—for that reminder alone can help you understand that your needs are being met in Framework 2, and the physical results will indeed appear. If you do not believe that, then you must deal alone with the set of Framework 1 facts. At the end of a week, say, as you look over Ruburt’s feelings, you will find that they do fall in several categories, and then I will discuss those categories.

Remind yourselves of Framework 2 in all areas of your lives, particularly that spontaneous psychic experiences, inspirations and insight are readily available.
