Such incidents serve as important lessons, for in each case Ruburt will be able to see that the fears are unjustified—that a fear is based on anger instead, or that the fear exists but is exaggerated in degree.
In any case feelings are thusly encountered, understood, and acted upon. Practically, you can only react to the world as you encounter it through specific experiences, and you cannot escape it, for it will come to your door. The earlier questions about fear of the world, for example, reinforced to some extent, now, generalized fears, without for example specific incidents connected to them.
I did not mean to suggest that words like “fear” should not be used, but the day should not be begun by reminding the self of generalized fears. Beginning the day with the positive suggestions will, as time progresses, reinforce Ruburt’s sense of personal energy and power, and trust of the self. This does indeed insert necessary new countering information, and also allows for the expression of fears—for Ruburt will feel safe enough to express them.

(10:29 PM. There are several excellent points in the session that we can integrate with the previous one – especially those about using the pendulum to check out specific fears, etc. In larger terms, Seth’s admonition to “let go the effort” is very important.
(I’ve written down a couple of questions for Wednesday’s session, and will list them there. They have to do with the way Jane reacts to the world through her mystical nature —something we seldom consider, if ever; and any possible inhibiting factors in her behavior that might have been set up after the psychic business started. I found myself wondering if she wanted to be more active in the world —through tours, speaking, classes, or whatever, but that she’d inhibited such desires because she felt I wasn’t interested in them, didn’t want to spend the time on them that would be required, etc. I wondered if Jane’s sitting on such desires, unexpressed, could have resulted in some of her fears of scorn and criticism, etc.
