(I told Jane at suppertime tonight that she was having a session this evening. The reasons were obvious, I thought: This morning she’d awakened with her neck, back, and so forth in a very rigid state—so I wanted to know what had happened yesterday, or recently, to bring about this state of affairs when we’d thought we were making at least a modest kind of progress. There had been a number of developments in the past few days, and the session that follows outlines some of those as they apply to Jane’s condition, so there’s little need to repeat them here.

Now: I know what I want to say, but sometimes with you two it is difficult to know the best starting place, so we will begin thusly—dealing with yesterday and the details you wanted. No interruptions or questions, for now, if you will.

Now yesterday Ruburt told Frank that he would see him every other week, and he told a white lie to cover the real reason. Frank had brought him flowers. On the same day he called your friend Peg, already wondering if he might have hurt Peg’s feelings the week before. He invited Peg and Bill for the evening, but Peg had made other plans. Ruburt felt he must have hurt Peg’s feelings, and this made him also feel somewhat abandoned, fearing that the friendship might simply lapse.

Now: you worked with the pendulum yesterday. You did not work with the pendulum however regarding those specific events (since they all took place after our morning pendulum work). A good portion of the session will deal with such issues.

The negative aspect of some of the questions has not helped. I would like to suggest a different approach, and one that would have greatly benefited the situation yesterday, say, and today, had it been used earlier.
