I have some remarks for you two instead. Now I want you to make out a list of beliefs about yourself, and another list of beliefs about Ruburt. I want him to make out a list of his beliefs about you. I want him to concentrate, now, upon those beliefs that are working for him, to quite consciously build up the sense of his own worth by listing the uses to which he has put his abilities. I want him to then stress, this week, all of his good points, and as much as possible to ignore for that amount of time the negative ones.
Twice a day for 15 minutes at a time, to take the place of psycho-cybernetics, I want him to dwell upon these positive activities and characteristics. This will automatically help replace some of the negative beliefs concerning unworthiness, and is an effective way of avoiding pitfalls.
For a week I want you to concentrate on Ruburt’s good points and abilities and accomplishments also when you think of him, until I get further in our book. You do not thoroughly understand the interaction of beliefs, the give and take of energy patterns.
