“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(From 6-7 PM this evening Jane and I attended a cocktail party given by Leonard Yaudes in his apartment downstairs. Afterward Jane, Shirley Bickford—one of Jane’s ESP class members - and I listened to the tape of ESP class, made last night. The tape contained some of the Sumari chants Jane has been giving in class recently. They are extremely interesting. I told Jane before the session tonight that I couldn’t give her much of any sort of answer to her questions about the chants or the Sumari development in general. I didn’t have enough information, etc.

Now the Sumari do not exist as I exist. As my name basically makes little difference, so does the name Sumari basically make little difference. But the names signify an independent, unique kind of consciousness that makes use of certain boundaries.

Your Sumari consciousness is that kind of consciousness, and so is mine, except that my boundaries are far less limited than your own, and I recognize them not as boundaries but as directions in which recognition of myself must grow. The same applies to the Sumari as such. This is not an undifferentiated consciousness, in other words, that addresses you now, but one that recognizes the nature of its own identity.

The point is that I am not impersonal any more than you are, in those terms, and the Sumari in those terms are also individual and to that extent personal. You are a part of the Sumari. You have certain characteristics, in simple terms, as a family might have certain characteristics, or the members of a nation.

They are recognizable, though as members of a family often emphasize their own individuality rather than family likenesses, so can the Sumari. The connection, the conscious connection, is important, for in that regard you are not alone. Others are working with you, and there are bonds that are held and honored. You may take your break.

The Sumari songs are many things. They are training for later work on the speakers’ manuscripts.

The Sumari language itself will help Ruburt by freeing his concepts, and release him from the almost automatic process of translating data into stereotyped English terms. The thought patterns beneath various languages are different, and he has been trained in the Western tradition. This is not enough.

As you know there are complicated reasons why he began this at this time again. Your own relationship is closely involved. There will be much more I want to tell you. I am giving you some highlights this evening, but not having a long session. There are important healing aspects connected with the Sumari development, as Ruburt is beginning to suspect—a different kind of breakthrough, or easy access to energy.

The Sumari dreams of Ruburt all involve training of the type I have mentioned. Some of the songs are given to him when he sleeps. They are also now available.
