DELETED SESSION

(Jane was ready for the session at 8:45, so we sat for it in our bedroom for extra privacy. Seth didn’t appear; however, although Jane said she felt him around at various times. Finally at 9:15 she said “I’ve been set up. Instead of telling us about it, Seth’s letting me feel the emotions of that young girl you were involved with when you were Nebene, at the time of Christ....” This was in or near Constantinople. The girl’s name was Sharabena, and she was Jane in that life as I was Nebene.
(See the deleted session for July 19, 1972. Now Jane looked rather uncomfortable. She said little at first, though I could tell she was recalling material from that past relationship. Actually the relationship in question, while called a reincarnational one, is a parallel one to our own. It is happening now, not two thousand years ago. Whenever I mention a “past life,” this is what I actually mean. Jane also endorses this idea.

—and we will begin part two of this evening’s session. To speak in terms of mastering a situation already phrases a situation in poor terms. (A remark I made during discussion, etc.) You choose situations in order to learn and understand. The two of you, now, chose that aspect of your lives together in this life, to help you understand the meaningful relationship between spontaneity as connected with the emotions and creativity, and discipline as connected with the intellectual: to feel and understand the creative tension that connects them both, to learn the personal aspects of emotional relationships as they affect others, and the reflection of the emotions into creative endeavor. You served to help Ruburt find in this life direction. He also helped spur your own sense of direction in your early days together, when you turned from commercial art.

You have always wanted, in this life, to express yourself emotionally in that fashion. You taught him how to direct his emotions in his work. Because of the tensions and the challenges, however, and for other reasons having to do with this existence, Ruburt became worried that you would not relate to him in the emotional way that his nature demanded. You asked me how you could relate to him emotionally. Do you remember, in a recent session?

We cannot have a session until dawn. I want to give you, therefore some more immediate suggestions. You have, you know, done well with Ruburt since our last sessions. He needed a while to be reassured that you were not going to change back. He does not want you to baby him, nor do I. He is worried that you will think he does.

You must help him realize that physically he can do more than he realizes. Your emotional rapport now automatically helps. Many of your old sessions on that sort of thing specifically will be of benefit. Again, remark upon any improvements. Do not at this point judge him against your idea of perfect performance.

The main problem being the emotional rapport. Now while this has shown itself in Ruburt’s symptoms, it also showed itself in your work. Yet it was not your problem alone, but a challenge for both of you, as stated earlier in the session. It is important that you see that clearly also, so if you have questions on it ask me when you read this over.
Now, I bid you a fond good evening—and the early part of the session was under my auspices.
