“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(At about 9:40 PM, as we sat waiting for the session to start, Jane said she felt a bulky “something” off to her right, toward the bay windows in the living room. She didn’t actually see anything, nor did the effect develop further.)

The reasons given still apply, but all within this greater framework. The body’s needs to some extent even have changed. Now much of this would have frightened you both in the past, and could not have been given until you reached a particular point of development, and achieved a new status both separately and in your relationship.

(I didn’t know exactly what Jane meant. Before the session she’d made remarks about it being significant. I agreed that it was but my interpretation of that significance wasn’t as positive as Seth’s, I’m afraid. I didn’t ask Jane what her interpretation of this significance was, by the way. But at first glance I thought a good case could be made for not opening the doors to psychic developments to begin with, going by the contents of this session so far.

(Perhaps I was overly tired. I didn’t consider any such development worth symptoms, for instance, even if they disappeared tomorrow. Eight years was much too much for such an experience....

(It also seemed that both of us had made the decision to confine the psychic work to sessions only, which I thought would at this time automatically shut down a lot of possible developments. I also felt there was a strong possibility the sessions themselves would go by the board unless Jane showed much improvement before too much more time passed. We believe we are committed to delivering Seth’s new book, but after that....

(I thought at least that Jane could use the psychic awareness as intuition, etc., in her work, as everyone else did, do her “straight writing,” and let it go at that. At this time, in view of our own experiences, I seriously doubted that very many individuals in our reality were truly ready or equipped to handle such developments without a great struggle—chosen or no. There was, I felt, a great chance the struggle would get the best of them.

(This evening’s material, session and notes, incidentally, answered somewhat frequent speculations of my own: why I had always stressed caution when speaking to others who asked advice about developing matters psychic.

With the development of abilities however the importance of conscious thought became greater than before. The mind in one way was becoming more aware of reality, using greater energy and taking ever greater responsibility, which it did not bear to that degree before. The acceleration of mental creativity therefore meant that the creative energy of thoughts became ever greater in practical terms. Do you follow me?

Ruburt’s cautionary attitude was his way of maintaining balance. Usually his particular kind of development takes place in two lives, in your terms. Your own unswerving desire to paint is your impetus, as writing was Ruburt’s and is, so that your knowledge would be interpreted in those terms—as, if you continue, it will be.

All of this also applies to you, and cut down your own but not Ruburt’s intake of salt. The food recommended has a stabilizing and nourishing effect on your (underlined) systems at their present stages of development. You can handle citrus, while Ruburt cannot.

He now realizes that growth cannot be held back. Now later, but not in a distant future, your nap periods will be utilized for joint out-of-body work. The further developments latent since our sessions, are now ready to proceed. The feeling of accomplishment and peace will give you a feeling of greater time available within your daily framework. And as soon as the (Xmas) tree is removed, the badminton.
