Remember that your present reality is the result of years of positive and negative thought patterns. It is good that you have begun to recognize some of your own negative attitudes, for it is highly important that you do so.

You must be systematic until your reactions become fairly automatic. You must therefore replace negative patterns with positive ones. As you know, the negative patterns bring results. Now give us a moment.

This doesn’t mean that in the interim you allow every negative thought freedom however. Now you are beginning a most significant venture here. I want to impress upon you its importance. I want to make sure in these initial stages that you have the correct ideas. If you do not sell a painting by next week, for example, I do not want you to say “This does not work.” You have many negative patterns to conquer.

Now you often projected negative thoughts, not being able to accept the items in the spirit in which they were given. You felt it made you inferior to accept such gifts. This is negative to begin with. You (pointing to me) wanted to feel aloof, and I tell you, superior. There is a knack in accepting and receiving. Your attitude was a rejecting one in general—that is, it was a reflection of a deeper pattern of negative thinking.

In fact, you often stated that you wanted them as studies. They felt they were laying gifts at the altar of creativity, in their own way. I want to point out however the negative pattern behind this, on your part.

Give us a moment. (Pause.) To some extent there was a bottling up of energy, in that you could not take or give freely. You projected your own negative patterns of thought upon those who gave joyfully. This does not mean you look for alms. I did not mean they gave and therefore placed themselves above you. These were quite simply offerings, and they considered them little enough.

Specific incidents may be reacted to freely. But an overall pattern of rejection should be watched. It can extend to ideas, and limit both creativity and abundance. Its basis is fear. When you realize you have freedom, there is nothing to fear in this way. Do you follow me?

You are mainly concerned with overall patterns of thought, replacing those that you already have, replacing negative ideas as you are aware of them. This does not take much additional time, you see. `
