(10:36. Jane was out as usual. During the delivery I had become increasingly sleepy— so much so that at times I had to struggle to keep my eyes open; at times I let them close briefly in relief. I felt as though a trance state might be trying to intrude, rather than being aware of any general weariness. As I wrote, I looked about the room in hopes I might see something unusual— Seth etc., but noticed nothing.

Now. The paintings have come from other portions of your personality, who know better than you what you can do. (Long pause, eyes closed.) These will be, I believe, a series of visions, extending over some time. You will see various ways in which your abilities can be used, various possibilities. Progressions along various lines.

(11:02.Still in trance, Jane sat quite still in her rocker until 11:07. Her eyes were closed, and she was Seth for the next five minutes.

(I had felt just as sleepy as before, but had managed to keep writing, although I had a strong urge to merely lay down and sleep. I now did as Seth suggested, feeling a trance on my part was probably involved. If anything I felt a little less tired now, but with my eyes closed tried not to “try” for any effect too hard, less I block it by conscious effort.

(I closed my eyes again after visioning the sculp, hoping to see more. This was just before 11:07, and the session’s end. This time, before I realized it, I was “far away” in a fashion I cannot really put into words. Suffice it to say I was seemingly miles from my physical body, briefly, without being aware of any sensation of seeing anything else— no location, etc.
