(10:23. Jane again had a deep trance but returned from it easily. But strangely, and for the first time after a session, she discovered she couldn’t operate her voice. She smiled and several times attempted to answer my questions. Later she said she wasn’t worried, that she knew her voice was okay. I suggested she clear her throat, making a noise that way. She did so, the sound being usual. Then she whispered the word “there.” When I asked her to repeat what she had said, she spoke the same word again, loudly and rather explosively.
