(Jane had been having trouble writing her book on the Seth material with her old spontaneity, and both of us were concerned. This evening we worked with the pendulum and began to appreciate the reasons involved.

(It was late by the time we sat for the session. Jane began speaking for Seth in an average voice, with pauses, eyes open often, etc. At times here pace was quite slow.)

He works out many problems through his work. This is natural for the personality. If he insists upon four to five hours a day of definite work, many of his problems will be solved at an intuitive level by him. The determination and energy necessary to do this will be an indication of improvement. It automatically provides the inner focus and concentration necessary. As you know, his presence in this chair (eyes open, Jane pointed to the Kennedy rocker in which she sat) at regular session time provides the same sort of concentration and focus in another direction.

(10:45. Jane came out of trance easily, though it had been a fairly good one, she said. Break time found me very discouraged. I was angry and disappointed; I was fearful that Jane and I would never be able to rise above our problems and fulfill our potentialities, which I knew to be excellent. I was especially concerned that Jane wouldn’t be able to surmount the problems, so explicitly delineated by Seth, above, and so eliminate the symptoms. I couldn’t see how she would be able to really give her great creative spontaneity full reign, to accomplish the things I felt she had in her.

(I spoke my piece, filling Jane in to some extent on what Seth had said. My poor attitude alarmed her. Resume at 10:55.)

(“What do you think of Jane’s series of dreams, involving her dream book?”

(Since February Jane has had a series of dreams and psy-time experiences involving her dream book, which is now at Parker. All of the experiences have been correct to date. She showed me a three-page typewritten account of them today. The latest, on July 5, revealed the dream book as published.

(Jane, as Seth, smiled, eyes closed.) Now. The personality stresses and strains. The personal problems here have led to an increase of spontaneity in the dream state, and to added evidence of clairvoyance. The spontaneous portions of the self have come to the aid of other portions. The nervous reactions have actually resulted in more specific and detailed use of clairvoyance.

(11:26. Jane again left trance easily. This time, she said, the trance had been even deeper.)
