Some must be carried in buckets to irrigate inner lands. The material is a source. It will be given to various people in various ways. It is not up to you to decide which way is best, nor even to me. It will be presented therefore in many ways through the years. The consecutive method, from the early sessions through, will appeal to those who have little knowledge of such affairs, and will serve to let them (smile) get their feet wet, bringing them this time into the stream little by little.

It is not to be simply the presentation of ideas, though these are, of course, a main part of the whole. It is also to be the fact that a highly alive individual, such as myself, gives the material. For if you will forgive me, the material is much more significant because it is backed up (deeper voice) by someone who is no longer within your system.

It does not matter that I am a part of more. What I am as you have known me is legitimate. I go beyond the apparent boundaries of that self by which you have known me, but it is that self that could communicate with you before you could know anymore about my reality or understand that I might be more. (Pause.)

(To me:) Because you are so drawn to Ruburt, there is the struggle to actualize your emotions toward him in daily life. This of course superimposed on your early fear of emotionalism in this life. Part of your artistic impetus does come from this inhibited emotion, but fresh impetus is received when the emotion is allowed to go outward toward Ruburt; and through Ruburt, acting as a symbol to you, to the world at large.

One other point. (To me:) Now, you sought solitude. You wanted to be alone, amid your family. (Still in trance, Jane got up and walked into the kitchen, looking for a cigarette. Long pause.) The family had its severe disadvantages, but you were certain of its framework, which was to some extent at least, supportive.
