I will indeed. There is some material I have to give for your correspondent, and for this give us a moment, please. (Pause.)

Now I understand that to one closely and daily involved with the woman, it is difficult to see purpose or reason in the condition. Since the egotistical knowledge of the woman does not include this data, there are of course difficulties here also. But the inner self of the woman knows that in facing such a condition and finding nevertheless some moments of joy, even some compassion for others, that the personality has satisfied many of those feelings of inadequacy from the past existence. (One minute pause, eyes closed.)
Now. No (underlined) physical condition is irreversible, with the exception of loss of limbs and definite organs. The personality is always free to choose, in your terms, its future. But the choice is with the inner self, which is the real identity. There are of course other elements entering into any such situation. Telepathically received suggestions from others, and so forth. (Pause.)

The inner self does not feel threatened, therefore, only the part of the personality that is momentarily unaware of the true situation. Others also respond, and are in this drama for their own reasons. (Long pause.) The drama has a theme, and through working out the problems therein presented the theme becomes clear. In some psychological circles there are therapeutic groups that operate by setting up such dramas. Remember, the purpose is therapeutic, though it may not appear so. And none of this should be taken to mean that the sufferings are not quite real to those involved.
Now give us a moment. (Pause at 10:10.)

(Jane’s pace was now rather slow, and was to get much slower, with many long pauses. Most of these will not be indicated here.)

However, the doctor of whom I am speaking also has an excellent bedside manner, so to speak (humorous and slow) and he usually communicates with other levels of the personality that are unknown to the ego. (Long pause.) There would be no harm then, and perhaps some good done, by making such a contact.
I have given you my own views as closely as I can. I have looked in on the situation several times. (Long pause.) I have made contact with the woman on one occasion. (Long pause.)
My ideas are so different from those with which she has been accustomed that it was difficult for us to communicate. I am trying to put this in simple terms. (Pause.) We are all individuals regardless of our plane of existence. The woman could not relate to me well. The doctor of whom I have spoken has a more fundamental approach, you see. Do you follow me here?

(10:30. Jane smiled and came out of trance easily. She was quite surprised when I told her that it had been a slow one, indeed with quite a few long pauses interspersed. She had not been aware of any such delays while in trance.

Now. You had better end the session. I will however give you a few notes. First of all, within your system, relatively speaking, there can be and usually is, some lapse between my own thought and Ruburt’s verbalization. The control over the physical system is not as complete as when Ruburt is in control of it. When I am deeply considering a matter therefore, there is a pause on my part added to the natural lapse mentioned earlier. We will discuss this more fully for it will lead us into some other matters in which you will be interested. I do not operate Ruburt’s controls as automatically as he does, you see.
Other elements at times will also cause pauses. Various adjustments also enter into this.
