For example (pause, eyes closed; one of a series along in here), I was about to explain by telling you that these image traces are not, of course, visible physically, but latent. I believe your word latent suggests something that has not yet shown itself, however, and the particular kind of ghost image to which I am referring has instead already been manifested physically.

It exists after death in a latent form, in that (quite animated here) it can be materialized again. The possibility is there, but as a rule this does not occur. This image exists below the threshold of matter. You might call it an earth-memory image. (Pause.)

There is a corresponding image, held always within the inner consciousness of those who pass out of your system. (Long pause. One of several here.) This is indelible, but not always immediately available for reference. It forms a part of the whole inner self. We would prefer that you not think of any given entire entity in terms of a physical structure, though we have ourselves used the term structure to make explanations simpler, and will probably do so again.

So while you operate in a one-reality field psychological structure, you do not on a conscious level even perceive its entire reality, nor your place in it. The word progression is a poor one, and again however I must use it. (Pause; smile.) Seth’s material on action will help you here.

A psychological existence presupposes experience, experience in terms of value fulfillment (pause) and the emotional manipulation and direct knowledge of subjective states. This involves a capacity and ability to throw yourself whole-heartedly into a reality enveloping situation, and yet to be aware of the self who is then so lost or enveloped. (Pause; emphatic delivery.)

I am barely beginning to hint here of the psychological structures and capacities. In some way the inner self becomes the conscious egotistical self in your terms. (Pause.) Consciousness handles more and more activity. (Pause.) Feeling then is allowed to directly (long pause; hesitant) activate. (Pause.) We are not getting this concept through as clearly. (Pause.) Thought instantly becomes as real as your physical universe is to you.

(Jane paused. After a minute, at 10:47, I said good night to each personality, figuring that Seth had been present even if unheard. Jane’s eyes opened briefly. Her expression changed, she smiled, and I knew Seth would speak. He came through in a strong and animated voice.
