(Actually Jane sat with her eyes closed from 9 PM until 9:10, waiting to see if a session would develop. She wasn’t particularly in the mood, she said. She had been working hard on her projected book, and was also concerned because she hadn’t heard from either F. Fell or Prentice-Hall. The pendulum helped her out here this afternoon.

(Pause.) The knowledge that we have, myself and others like me, would be incomprehensible to you in its pure form.

Here knowledge is sifted through self-structures. (Pause.) Pure knowledge is not impersonal. To the contrary (smile; pause), it is meaningless unless it is (smile; gesture; pause), experienced intimately within every part of an identity. But to you it would seem impersonal.

Even so poor a small fish as I, am not bound by your time, and can be quite aware of what would seem to be future branches and developments that will intimately concern my own identity.
