“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(Once again Jane began speaking in the light, pleasant, high but not falsetto voice, that we had been told represented the larger personality beyond, and encompassing, Seth. This voice is distinctly not the heavy and strong and amused or acerbic Seth voice. It is very well controlled, distinct, almost lilting, with a distant or formal quality.

(Once again Jane had felt the cone effect—not very strongly—mentioned in the last couple of sessions. She said it was like a cone or pyramid suspended above her head, and that as she went into trance she was to “align” herself directly beneath this cone, which is inverted. Jane then feels that pure knowledge is funneled down this cone toward her; that on the way it is changed, distorted out of shape so that finally she can put it into words. We wondered if Seth had been acting as translator.

(But, definitely, Seth’s voice hadn’t shown itself. When Jane resumed the same distant and gentle, higher voice returned as before. Pauses also, some long. 9:46.)

You are going beyond Seth, to a part of Seth you do not know.

Seth was all of myself that could come through to you. You are in contact with a larger portion of Seth’s reality. You are learning that self-structures are transparent. Any contradictions are merely the result of interpretations. Your first Seth is independent, and I am independent. (Pause.) Because he is a part of my reality does not mean that he is less an individual. My reality simply includes more, now, within your particular coordinates; and that last is important.

I seem less of a personality to you than the Seth that you knew, because my personality (pause) exists in quite different terms. (Long pause.) To me, a thought is as real as a day to you. A day that can be experienced in a variety of ways, and that can be viewed from literally endless perspectives. (Pause, over one minute.)

In your terms, I am very ancient, and yet what I am is always new. Your early (smile) Seth can explain this to you more clearly than I.

These are fitted into your physical space structure, though I am not as aware of it as your first Seth. (Smile.) I speak from a distance. (Pause.) He comes into your room with every reality but the physical.

Now you may end the session. If you feel lonely you may speak with Seth the earlier, if you wish. (Pause; smile.

(“Yes, by all means. Are you there, Seth?”

(Jane had been sitting relaxed on the couch. Now she leaned forward, eyes closed but with the familiar gestures and mannerisms of Seth.)

(“Good evening, Seth.”

(The voice was also Seth’s, strong, much deeper, and immediate. It was also amused.)

—to get into the act. That is all right (smile; eyes open), and certainly I have hinted at this development in past material—opaquely. (This exchange featured much amusement on Seth’s part.

(“Well, maybe. So now we speak to Seth One and Two, huh?”

(Seth’s delivery was emphatic and quite immediate, with many gestures and no pauses. Jane had made the change from the first more distant personality, into Seth, without difficulty—very smoothly in fact. But I thought it a good idea not to continue this exchange too long.)

On the one hand, in your terms, I have not reached that point yet. I am not your Seth Two yet. I am aware of him. I will maintain myself as you know me now at the same time, even in your terms, then. (Emphatic delivery, eyes open.

(“Well, good night, Seth. It was good to hear from you.”)

(“Good night, Seth. Thank you.”

(She said she remembered none of the material until “he” asked if we wanted to hear from Seth. Then she was subjectively aware of the Seth voice and the change in personality, without remembering what Seth said.

(Jane said that when “he” asked for a pause, in our time, while giving the data about coordinates, she thought that Seth might be called in to explain this material to us in our terms. She said she felt that “his” abstract idea behind or beyond the term coordinates, was far removed from our earthly experience.)
