“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

It has to do with Ruburt’s book idea, and I hope to give you hints that you can follow.

You will always find that Ruburt’s writings are precise barometers, giving excellent indications as to his inner state of mind; showing also the quality and direction of his beliefs at any given time.

The intellect therefore dealt with ideas it did not accept, and you can find this in those statements that he has made. (Earlier today.) The intellect and the emotions therefore, as you know, have not operated together, and whole efficiency was not maintained. You have seen, as Ruburt himself now realizes, a breakthrough that is apparent in his outline.

A large breakthrough has occurred. In retrospect then Ruburt can see the importance of the book that was just completed. The breakthrough was a necessity. Had it not occurred general difficulties would have been encountered in other areas. You can use these hints in the future.

My material, now being used in classes (ESP), will indeed draw other students. Not because it is mine but because truth can be sensed within it. It will provide a built-in impetus. It will also bind the students together as a group. There will be a group gestalt operating that should result in very definite benefits to them and to Ruburt. It is no coincidence that he waited this long to introduce the material for class study.

You may now take your break and we shall continue. One point (to me:) You missed me at Ruburt’s classes. You would have enjoyed it.

Now. The new book will be the reconciliation, and it will mark the beginning of Ruburt’s real work.

The strong energy that was being diverted was working to his disadvantage, and you have felt it as a burden and a drag. You should now begin to feel almost immediately the addition of this reclaimed energy as it works for you. I told you that the crisis would come in any case, regardless of the field of activity chosen by Ruburt, but in no other field or activity could victory mean so much, or open so many potentials.

Our own sessions should also show a depth that we have not reached before, and I believe that Ruburt will allow me greater freedoms. I am indeed with you rather strongly this evening. (Pause.) I am of course fully aware, already, that greater energy is available, and we shall use it well.

You may take a brief break and we shall continue. (To Peggy:) You will be a witness to your friend’s improved conditions. On several occasions in the past I would have spoken to you, but it would have been against Ruburt’s wishes.

Now. When Ruburt’s eyes are closed, I still have you pinpointed.

I am aware of you in many ways through Ruburt’s nervous system. I am aware of you as human forms and physical entities. Through him I am aware of you as material three-dimensional forms. This is almost a secondhanded experience for me, however, and never too clear.

I can be aware of you in some physical ways, as now when Ruburt’s eyes are open. I can see you through Ruburt’s eyes in physical terms. This involves a narrowing of focus on my part, and the use of Ruburt’s nervous system.

Now. It is a subtle thing. I am now closely allied with Ruburt, and yet in another way, a new way, there is a balance so that his personality can be the surface, dominant one. He can operate as himself and my heavy hand is not so in evidence. He is simply more quiet than usual. This takes some control, since it is his mannerisms that are retained in a large manner.

When this method is thoroughly learned and Ruburt allows me greater control, then you shall notice a greater sense of immediacy and vitality. But as I come through to you more clearly in this manner then Ruburt and his own gestures and mannerisms will recede to a like degree.

It would of course involve the transposition of an old nervous system pattern upon Ruburt’s, and using this method the transformation when perfected will be quite startling. (Pause. Head still far down.) Initially all of our energy would be used however in this manner, to make the transposition before any of my own personal characteristics could show in other than physical terms.

(A long pause, perhaps a minute. When Jane spoke again her eyes were wide open, voice very animated.) This is a compromise method, and a good one. You have the best of both worlds. Now these methods, when perfected, will go a long way toward explaining how I see you, and how I can make my reality known to you. I have put Ruburt on a merry-go-round, and so I shall let you take a break, though I am myself in a fine mood, and it is good to see you taking notes so diligently once more.

(Smile.) This is a tricky method, and I can enjoy seeing you in your terms as material entities, for Ruburt’s system is carrying the prominent spot, and I use it.

I will continue for a moment in this state, to tell you about yet another method, the one that is used in Ruburt’s projections from a session. In this case I keep his physical system going while training him to describe what he has seen in his projections. This present state is challenging to Ruburt, for he can feel the interplay between us in a way not possible in the other states.

I will now end our session for your convenience, for I could continue yet for some time; and our best wishes to the Jesuit, who is about his holy way. (Bill Gallagher, Peggy’s husband, is on a business trip to New York City.) I am very pleased, and I am with you, again, vividly this evening. A mark of Ruburt’s greater leniency.
