I still tell you to paint your own room, though the same color is fine. The things that you think you save by not painting, hide associations—old patterns that you still are partial to, to some extent. You yourself also need this change in immediate environment. Inner knowledge is reflected in new physical ways. The very resistance you feel, you see, here in this case is significant.

A small remark here. Ruburt is still slightly distrustful of the new conditions, asking will they last. This results in the lingering strong sensitivities, which will vanish as he becomes reassured. He was literally terrified. I cannot stress this too strongly. It is taking him a while to realize that he is free. But he is doing so, and energy is being released and is available to him, that was not available earlier.

Soon the old native exuberance will completely return, and now there will be a direction for it. A very small point here for you. You resented your mother’s frequent house cleaning for several reasons. First of all you deeply feared that in rearranging her house she was merely playing with surface arrangements, and would not touch the deeper dilemmas of the family.

You wanted something that your work provides, but in a different fashion. Do not mistake me here. This is a general statement, subject to some specific alterations. However, generally speaking, those completely focused in physical reality will look for their prime fulfillment within it. They will also have children.

The birth principle is also here on your parts, not mine, in that the sessions involve a projection into a reality that is largely new, and a birth on your parts, you see. Out of the womb of earth into a new dimension. There is some sexual basis in the hidden man-woman symbolism in this respect, this being on a psychic level.

The desire to father or mother a child is a materialization of the desire for fulfillment—one of many that happens to be predominant within physical reality. If you consider what I am saying, along with some of our early material, you will see what I mean here.
